I haven't heard yet. How about you guys?

I got wait-listed

waitlisted for fall sem, but accepted for spring sem.

ahighschooler, are you planning to wait though?

Yeah, I'm planning on waiting.

After all, the other schools I've gotten into are quite expensive.

I am currently a sophmore at Binghamton that was waitlisted when I applied.. if you have any questions feel free to ask me.

did you get in after the waitlist? when did you hear by?

Yes I did get in off the waitlist and I got a phone call and a letter from bing on May 6th. You need to wait until after the deadline on May 1st to get a response.

I was kind of an interesting case in terms of college admissions. Waitlisted at 5 good schools and I got into 4 off the waitlist. Bad Sats, Good Gpa, tons of ECS and 9 APs. Hard work can really pay off sometimes.

The best advice I can give is... Never underestimate the power of visiting admissions counselors in person. It WILL deffinitely work towards your favor, by atleast showing interest to the schools u want to go to.

well, its kind of hard for me to visit.. so do you think it would be good to write a letter of interest?

A letter of interest will help, but I was able to meet IN PERSON, the associate director of admissions that would let me in. The guy I met with basically had the power to accept me or deny me and We talked for about 1-2 hrs about my case and certain aspects of Binghamton. The talk really can't be transcribed on a "letter of interest". Just driving up there, proves that u want to go there. I can't say that a letter of interest can do that. I did not have the time as a senior with 5 APS, but I MADE THE TIME. I cannot emphasize that enough. If you really want something, you will make it happen. That is the best advice I can give. The best option for me was paying instate tuition at Binghamton and I did whatever I could to keep the costs down for my parents. Despite that, a letter of interest might help but i don't know if it will help to sway an adcom.
