I'm taking the SAT in May and I'm starting to do practice essays. Am I the only one who can't write an essay in 25 minutes? My entire life I've edited my writing as I write it and it's really hard to break this habit! Has anyone else had a problem like this and fixed it? Any advice for writing the essay would also be greatly appreciated!

The SAT essay is quite silly. What other time in your life will you have to write such a rushed, undeveloped essay? In order to conquer it, you need to sacrifice quality for length, since many graders don’t even read the essay. Don’t think too deeply.
- Take 2-3 minutes to plan out your main points (make sure none of them involve MLK or Gandhi)
- Use an elementary thesis and a 5 paragraph format
- Scatter some nice SAT words in your essay you understand how to use them correctly
- Leave no more than 5 lines blank

i’m the same way! ignore transitions. vary your sentence structures but make them clear cut and to the point
