I received my acceptance letter in late December, around the time that everyone else at my school did, however, it seems to me that everyone I know that applied to Miami has already received their merit aid letters, while I have not. I’m just curious to see if anyone else out there hasn’t gotten theirs yet and am wondering if this will have any effect on my award.
@sethadams603 did you meet the criteria? If so, you may want to call Monday.
As far as I know I met the criteria 3.7 gpa 34 act mostly honors and AP classes. Who would I call?
Same situation for my S, 33 ACT and 3.5 GPA. I called Miami’s finacial aid yesterday and was told they review for merit in batches and she had no way to know which batch my son was in but the next wave will come out at the end of Jan and then again at the end of Feb. She said it does not mean he isn’t getting any merit if he hasn’t received a letter yet. She also said we will get a final letter in March, even if no aid is being offered. We are just going to try to stay optimistic and be patient even though it is very hard!!
My son just got his on Thursday. 30 ACT, 4.0. State champ golfer. He got $12,000 per year.
@sethadams603 I wouldn’t worry. The website is pretty transparent on aid. You’ve got great stats!
