ACT 34 GPA 3.93 OOS 28.5K per year
@bengalmombengal – that’s excellent. My son had very similar numbers (34/3.9uw) and ended up with a 20k/yr offer. Congratulations!
@ikooldiscovery You got 9.5k per year without even being in the lowest scholarship bracket, while I only got 9k per year while being in the highest bracket? Is that 9.5k merit aid?
Weird. ds only got 7k per year, in state, 31 ACT with 4.0. accepted in December for ED, offered Honors program
The OP has to be wrong. There is no way an instate student with those stats got almost 100% tuition.
@ahsmuoh I agree.
@MLB5252 @ahsmuoh I got 9.5k in MERIT aid from the stats I have and participation in Miami Bridges. Many of the people who have similar stats as myself and participated in bridges got a minimum of 8k
What is Miami Bridges?
@ahsmuoh it is a free overnight visit program for all students interested in Miami. It’s pretty competitive to get into especially since after completing it you get a scholarship
Based on the website, it appears the Bridges program is intended to increase diversity. Very good that they are trying to do something to increase diversity on campus.
Also, not sure we’re comparing the same base. Looks like some of the bridges scholarships are expressed in value over 4 years whereas the merit scholarships are typically referenced in value/year even though they are renewable.
9.5k total- 4k bridges, 5.5k reg merit? It is per year as stated in my award letter (totaling 38k) @buzzlightyear3
Congrats @ikooldiscovery
That’s excellent!
Do the letters come via post? I was accepted (yay!) yesterday, but there was no mention of a scholarship. Does the scholarship notification come later, or have I not received one at all? (2310 SAT, kinda expecting one)
@onthebox I got my scholarship letter via mail a few days after my acceptance. But I applied EA. I do not know if applying in a different round of admissions affects scholarship letters.
guys this is what their email says about scolorships information
‘Once again, congrats on your acceptance. While we are preparing your acceptance packet to be sent out later in March, I am pleased to let you know that you have received a $8000 scholarship to Miami University that is renewable all 4 years that you are here. When we send out your acceptance packet, it will include your I-20, acceptance letter, and scholarship letter’
Does this mean that I have received a total of 8000$ and 2000$ a year or that I have received 8000$ a year which is renewable for the next four years.
