I landed my summer internship a couple of months ago at a really cool game studio in San Fran. I am going to be working as a game design intern. It's basically my dream position.

However... now I'm getting nervous. Like, what if they expect crazy things out of me that I'm not capable of handling? It seems like all the other students who got hired are way older than me or are in grad school. I passed two interviews, so I feel like it's silly to be worried, but I'm stressing out way too much about this now. :( Any advice?

I don’t think they would have hired you if they didn’t think you were capable of the job. So relax and enjoy San Francisco and the internship!

From what I have heard about internships you are basically there to do the…repetitive menial jobs around where ever it is you are. Not saying internships are bad, they give you inside looks at how a game design studio works as well as some experience and people to know in the field. Out of curiosity I have to ask what studio it is(avid gamer)?

I’m getting really nervous for mine too! I’m going all the way to freaking Thailand to study disease strains there. I’m starting to get really nervous & wonder if I’m actually qualified I guess once it starts we’ll both know. I’m sure it’ll work out though! Labs & studios make sure a person is qualified before taking them.

It’s never as bad as it seems, just don’t break down or act straight up weird…

It’s EA Games, the northern california division. I’ll be working on an unannounced (but cool) title.
