I'm transferring from Foothill to UCB. Finals were almost two weeks ago, grades were submitted early last week. So far, Berkeley has not received my Foothill transcript (+IGETC certification)

Berkeley expects to receive the transcript by 7/15. It seems like those of us on the quarter system are at a disadvantage here. This seems like a perfect place to get inadvertently screwed (i.e. I'm sure they have tons of these to process, at both the CC and at the UC campus, and they're probably overwhelmed).

Anyone have any experiences to share here? I figure, give them until 7/13 (Monday) - if UCB still hasn't received it, call or go down to Foothill to find out what's up.

Hey I’m in the same situation except from De Anza to UCSD. I know a few more people with the same dilemma, too. I called SD and they said they expect De Anza/Foothill kids to have these kinds of problems, but to just get it in as soon as possible. Rather vague, but I think the UC’s acknowledge that CC’s on a quarter system might experience some issues meeting the deadline. I’m pretty sure I’ll get my transcript in before the July 15 deadline, but I’m not so sure about my IGETC.

if they will receive them within 10 days after deadline, you will be fine.

"The campus allows you approximately 10 additional days after the deadline to provide all official documentation. After that time, we place a block on your registration, meaning that you are not officially enrolled at Berkeley. While the block does not prevent you from enrolling in classes, your student ID card and all official campus services are not available to you (e.g., health center, food services, sports and recreation facilities, etc.). If official documents are still not provided, your enrollment will be cancelled. "

I mailed all of my transcripts together (I had them mailed to me first). I sent them certified mail and they received them and processed them in about a week.

robbay: How did you manage to send your igetc and transcript on separate times? They should have been sent together or at least on the same day.

As for the main “issue,” as long as your community college managed to send the documents without an error (address typo, process error, etc), one shouldn’t worry too much about it. Berkeley does have tremendous amount of incoming students that it is going to take a bit of time for any update to be done.

I’m having a dilemma as well. I don’t know whether I needed to send my transcripts (high school and community college) separately from my IGETC certification. Anyone else can clarify this?

BTW, I used my high school transcript and college transcript to get IGETC certified. My college – and UCSD – is not so clear about whether I needed to send another batch of transcripts. HELP!

The format of your question makes it difficult to understand exactly what you are asking. I believe I made it clear that IGETC should have been sent in along with your college transcript, as I can think of no legitimate reason for the two documents to have been sent out on separate occasions. If I’m not making myself clear, or it isn’t the answer you’re looking for, rewrite your question in a more clear manner.

The whole thing has been quite odd and disconcerting for my worried state of mind. I requested my cc to send it in as soon as final grades (June 11) was posted along with my IGETC certification (I’m not sure about other schools but all I had to do was check a box on the transcript request to have that send along). It was there within 2 weeks, I remember I was quite surprised it got there so fast. I personally handed in my high school transcript around the middle of June and it hasn’t been updated for a month now.

My friend who is also going to CAL who went to the same community college and went to the same high school as I did mailed in his high school transcript a week or 2 before I did and had his community college transcript mailed in presumably the same time I had mines sent, has no confirmation for either.

And I just received an email today from my admissions officer that she had my transcript (I presume also the high school one) and she said it has been posted though I still do not see it.

I don’t see why a CC needs to send a transcript AND whatever that IGETC certification is… If you’re certified IGETC, it should be reflected on the transcript you just sent.

I mailed in requests around June 10th and I’m still waiting on ELAC and LA Harbor College. I only took one class each this spring semester only so I don’t see what the hold-up is.

LACC sent them in very promptly and that’s my main college (60 units+)
