I got an e-mail from my admissions advisor at Cal saying that he received my transcripts (from LACC), but IGETC is still not there. I am definitely going to the admissions on Monday, but I did request the IGETC (it's on the same form as the transcript, so they couldn't had lost the request). Did any of you have IGETC mailed later than the transcript? Or should I be worried that something is wrong? I have completed all the requirements for IGETC - for sure! Thank you so much!

Did you ever talk to your counselor about the certification thing? When I talked to one at my CC, he told me that I needed to have the counselor fill something out, which apparently one of them did about a semester before. My friend is asking me the same thing, and as I understand it, you’re not certified just for taking the classes, you actually need them the CC to certify the fact that you fulfill it.

When my transcript arrived to Cal, it showed the certification thing right under it, so it arrived there the same time.

I think all CC’s in the LACCD use the same Student Information System. If that’s the case, you can see your transcript online and check if you’re certified or not. On the bottom of your transcript page, there should be a “Memoranda: UC IGETC Met On: XX/XX/XX” if you are indeed certified. For me, it took about a week or two to get that message, after I ordered my final transcripts for certification.

When I went to order a transcript, there was indeed a box to request IGETC but it was for office use only, I think. When I told them I needed to be certified, they told me to fill out an extra form separately as well. I go to ELAC btw. Maybe that’s how it works with LACC too? Just go there and ask them what you need to fill out to be certified.

steamboy- i go to pierce college and i signed for the form for igetc certification awhile ago, but on the memoranda part, it still doesnt say anything about igetc certification. I sent my transcript to ucla alrdy too… im confused?

conn1ex3 - IGETC certification is mailed separately from transcripts according to the person I spoke with at the Pierce graduation office. They are “working” to meet the UC deadline of July 15th to get them done and sent out. Some how, I don’t find that reassuring as it takes them about two weeks to mail a transcript. I too don’t’ have anything about certification under memoranda.

I go to De Anza college and have requested my IGETC certification twice and neither times have they sent it, I’ll be going to admissions on Monday, does anyone know if they would let us mail it ourselves, if they handed us the envelope? My school’s lagging on this

afsheen89, they should let you pick up your certification and send it yourself. I used to go to Mt San Jacinto and my IGETC was never sent, so I went and picked it up and hand delivered it to UCSD. When you hand deliver they give you a receipt so its probably the safest way to make sure they get your certification.

skwz- ooh okay. yeah that is what they said, but the way they said it didnt sound very reassuring to me at all lol. I sent my transcript as a rush like 2 weeks ago so it probably got there in 2-3 days max. after i sent it. I just wanna see the check mark on myucla site and get igetc certified alrdy!
