<p>I'm so nervous! I tried this afternoon, this evening, and just now and I still can't seem to upload my Wellesley essay. It keeps having an "error" message.
I'm guessing it's the server?
I definitely have the right size and correct type of document.</p>
<p>Anyone else in this situation?</p>

<p>It happened to my son a few weeks ago. He just logged off and back on, and then it worked. Disconcerting, though. I hope you get it to go through!</p>

<p>Logging back in didn’t work so I e-mailed commonapp; they were very quick to respond and for reference, they suggested:
-Remove all captial letters in file name
-Shortening file name to less than 10 characters
-Converting to pdf form; pdfs take less time to upload
And it worked (very quickly too)! Hooray!</p>
<p>I was having all sorts of trouble with uploading as well. Then I changed computers to one with Word 2007. There I could save the document in a pdf file which “shrank” it to a size that uploaded without any trouble. Common Ap folks should mention this somewhere in the help section.</p>
