i'm taking it this coming school year and i may say that i am quite literally petrified at the idea. well, i wanted to challenge myself, and if you've taken it then please, share your experience with others.

i haven't taken it, but people at my school say it's virtually impossible. most people fail or get Cs and Ds at the best. Good luck!!!

My understanding is that Math HL is for the math, physics, engineering minded. My daughter took Math HL because her other math classes leading up to this made her overqualified for SL -- too much repetition. But she doesn't want to be an engineer, so she took the SL test. Better to get a great grade on an SL exam, then blow your diploma chances on an HL exam, just because you took the HL course.
ALSO -- she had taken both AP US and World History as a sophomore and junior. She took SL history exam so she wouldn't duplicate AP/IB scores. This way she maximized her combined AP and IB credit for college.

well, i'm not going for the diploma, more like certificates in both bio and math..but thanks for your comments!

anyone else? bumpbumpbump

I hear it is brutal compared to AP Calc.

ouch....and i thought i had it tough with HL Chem...at my school they dont even offer HL Math without a rec from your math teacher and after your counselor signs off on it...some of my friends are taking HL math tho..but they're the type of ppl that can take a Calc test without a calculator =P

g'luck
