Anyone experienced in Diversity Scholarships?

I'm currently working on a scholarship essay that is focused on how I've fostered a community of intercultural awareness and inclusion. However, it has a 350 word max so I'm hesitant on additional information. Should I include my race? I'm Asian American but it's irrelevant to my essay. My essay is simply about the Science Olympiad that I founded in a private middle school. I grew up in that middle school experiencing natural segregation between ethnicities so I wanted to create a club where I could have all races come in and work on events together. It actually turned out quite nicely and now it's being led by parent coaches after two years of coaching.

This scholarship is for a particular college (Ohio State University - Morrill Scholarship) but I'm pretty sure most colleges have some type of diversity scholarship. If I add my race, it might take out a sentence in my essay that has value. However, if it adds tremendous value for the readers to know my race, that will definitely take first priority. Thank you!

Can your ethnicity be guessed from your first/last name?

Isn’t your ethnicity already a part of application as a whole to that university?
