Diversity Scholarship?

I'm currently working on a scholarship essay that is focused on how I've fostered a community of intercultural awareness and inclusion. However, it has a 350 word max so I'm hesitant on additional information. Should I include my race? I'm Asian American but it's irrelevant to my essay. My essay is simply about the Science Olympiad that I founded in a private middle school. I grew up in that middle school experiencing natural segregation between ethnicities so I wanted to create a club where I could have all races come in and work on events together. It actually turned out quite nicely and now it's being led by parent coaches after two years of coaching.

This scholarship is for a particular college (Ohio State University - Morrill Scholarship) but I'm pretty sure most colleges have some type of diversity scholarship. If I add my race, it might take out a sentence in my essay that has value. However, if it adds tremendous value for the readers to know my race, that will definitely take first priority. Thank you!

If you mention that you co founded a club for that reason I don’t think race is important, plus isn’t there a section to fill out that asks for race?

Yeah, but I’m not entirely sure if the reader for the scholarship will be reviewing my entire application as well. Thanks!

Actually, since this is a thread on a diversity scholarship, I just want to get this question out there; Are there any essential aspects that I should definitely add to my paper? (Kinda vague question but intuitive). The competition is crazy because it can scale up to a full ride scholarship for undergrad so I want to give it my absolute best! Thanks guys!
