Anyone flying to Berkeley next week?

Oakland Airport is much smaller than SFO and definitely easier to get into and out of. You could almost get away with just taking BART from Coliseum Station to downtown Berkeley, but I don't recommend that for true tourists. Go ahead and rent a car or take a shuttle from OAK to the Cal campus.

Berkeley is providing the ground transportation for me :)

What the hell? Why are they paying for all you guys? Can I get them to pay for me too? What's the deal with that?

Is anyone flying from LAX? If so are you interested on switching flight times. One leaves around 3 and the other 4. Please help. I need to find someone to switch so i can go w/ my girlfriend

iam flying from lax and i leave at 4 but iam sorry iam not interested in switching flights but i know someone who wants to switch from 3 to 4 so maybe that can work out for you, and are we even allowed to do that

Kratos: They're paying for us because we're in SoCal. And it was in the "events" section so people could have signed up too.

Sorry Adamboy87, I'm leaving from Ontario.

Hey, do you HAVE to be at LAX 3 hours before the departure time? My flight leaves at 3:00PM Thursday and I can't get out of school early and I will have to get there around 1:00PM, which is 2 hours before departure.

hmmm...I wish Berkeley had paid for mine too! I live in SoCal so it was cost prohibitive...but everyone have a good time for me :)

Hey guys. I'm leaving on thursday too on the 3 PM flight from LAX. I'm excited for OHP. I read somewhere that they offer OHP to around 800 acceptees.

shiznut123: I was wondering that too. I'm going to get there at noon just in case.

Flying out of LAX is hell. Flying out of Ontario is easier...you can arrive half an hour before your flight leaves and get away with it and still make your flight (if you're not checking in).

anyone leaving from Burbank at 4? i am : )

is it too late to get them to pay for my flight and stuff too?

I'm going from Burbank to Oakland. Cal provides ground transportation to and from Oakland Airport. They called me today. Apparently, I'm staying in an apartment near campus.

How Do I Get My Free Flight!?!?

;_;

A Cal representative called me the night of 3/31 and told me about this free weekend program. She told me to sign up on Cal's admissions decisions webpage.

Dude. You can't "get them" to pay for your flight and whatnot. It was an invitation-only thing. No offense but it sounds extremely rude to hear students say that they're trying to 'get' Cal to pay for them- it's not a right. It was a privilege, one that certain students were offered. I'm sure they had a criteria to who they invite- the one that I was invited to was offered to minorities and/or students from lower economic classes.

Woo. Now that my little b-tch rant is over.

I'm flying tomorrow at 3 as well. (LAX). I'm going to be there at 11:30AM because of my slightly neurotic mother, so if anyone sees a little Korean girl with her equally little mother, don't be afraid to come up and say hello. I want to make as many friends as possible so I can have a great time. =D

There will be hundreds of little Korean girls with their little Korean mothers on campus this weekend:)

fyi. even though Oakland airport is smaller and closer than SFO, SFO now has BART in the airport. Hop off your plane, hop on to BART (pay your bucks and xfer a few times) and voila you are at Berkeley BART!

I live closer to LAX than Ontario and I'm used to LAX. So it shouldn't be that bad.

kattiepie: I'm on the same flight as you and I'm arriving a little later.

have fun all at cal day when everyone will be squished into the same few square blocks..........i'm gonna stay a safe distance away =P i'm gonna watch on the hill with a cannon =)
