Anyone from Socal taking a car?

As opposed to flying there, and biking/walking?

im hoping to take my prius that my parents have yet to purchase!
haha.

how u gonna walk there lol!

chocolatecake27, how long is the drive?

And denneyk, i meant walking/biking on campus haha as opposed to driving around.

I'm not taking a car (I don't have one to take anyway lol) but my friend told me that flying their is pretty cheap. With the high cost of gas these days anyway, I don't know if it's really worth it. Go green. :]

booo...i live 15 minute away from davis. i'll be driving =] HAHA...

i'm debating whether or not i should get a car for Davis though. I think i might bike/walk it.

ayeitsj, according to mapquest the drive from where im coming from is 5h and 43 min, but everyone is telling me that it will be much more than that cuz of traffic.

i checked some airlines prices and an average price was about $90 one way, coming from LA. but maybe you can find something cheaper than that.

btw, has anyone been to ucsb? im wondering if davis has more bikes than them, it sure sounds like it, from what ive heard. but id like to get an idea of how its like.....

And where are you planning on parking it?

Freshmen can't buy campus parking permits.

I will be taking a car, which I have yet to buy, and a bike. Car for outside class time and a bike for campus mobility.

Park it somewhere on the street? idk lol

yeah. im getting a bike too! =]

haha. yup, the street sounds like a nice place to park.

it'll be a pain in the butt reparking your car every 2hrs, but whatever..

Umm someone mentioned you could park outside Tercero or something? I don't remember, but there's a way for freshmen to park without the permit. x: Oh well, it's a 7hr drive for me and I don't want to have to deal with hassle.

Davis is the largest biking community in the nation xD

do people wear their helmets?

^
It varies. Alot of people don't.

Live in Cuarto if you plan to bring a car and you can park it on the street there.

airplane fo sho~~...or not :3 maybe my sophmore year i'll bring one

I'll be driving up there on the 18th... Then probably going to San Francisco the next day(maybe stay for picnic day)

LOL, I don't even have my permit yet.

i thought we werent allowed to have cars on campus
bc from what i read the permits have time limits
like you cant park there past 5pm and stuff like that
