Judging from the cost and parking permit situation, cars don't seem like a feasible choice. So, how does one get around at UCLA? How good is the public transportation and how far can one get with it (I doubt there is good public transportation to my home 50 miles away...?)?
Also, how are the accomodations for motorcycles? Are there enough parking spots in convenient locations?

Public transportation sucks. That is all. :(

obviously it sucks to trains and subway

but big blue bus is decent (mostly on time)

and what about motorcycles?

are there any parking perks for being in the honors program?? i REALLY want to keep my car next year...

IF ONLY!!!!
parking for frosh: regents, alumni scholar's, or working for parking.
...or street parking and avoiding tickets.
face it, 95% you won't have a car, and if you do, it's one hell of a hassle anyways. plus, around here, you don't really need one.
you'll survive, at least for a year ;)

Motorcycle parking is plentiful and free (no permit required)!!

I loved having a bike here - a lot of the motorcycle parking areas have anchor points in the ground for bike locks. Highly recommend it.

yeah im jealous of the people with motorcycles. they can go anywhere, except into the library hahah
