Anyways, when I checked the status page, I now am able to click on The 2008 (financial aid for 2007-2008) under View Financial Aid Award Summary. But it doesnt load properly.

The problem with mine is that it says my CSS Profile is Requested. However, I submitted the profile in January 7th or something. Does this mean they just haven't received it or did collegeboard fail to send it or something?

Same here collegebound I have to get my parent to turn in that tax stuff though. Also it's asking for the Noncustodial parent form....don't know where that parent is....so um....

Anyone hear yet?

I didn't hear anything, but I'm able to click on the 2008 Award link now. $3500 of federal loans. :( My EFC was $34420.

I got mine over WA. Pretty upset, though I'm not too sure about how I should intepret this package. They gave me 25K in grants and work study. 32K with loans. Im OOS so this might not be enough seeing as how the tuition is 40K+. What do I do? I really want to go to UM but I can't afford taking out 10K+ in loans in each year. My EFC is 0.

i saw min on WA today too. all they gave was a $3000 work study and a $3500 loan. EFC was $20000. im kinda upset. i cant take out $12000 a year in loans

On WA I was "Offered" about $10k for fall-winter but I only have about $5k under "Accepted." What's the difference?

It seems like Offered is with loans and Accepted is without. If you look at your Accepted column, the loans are = 0 where as its 2500 or 3000 under offered.

Also, can you guys post whether you are instate or OOS since there is a very large tuition difference. Redsoxfan13, if your OOS, and they only gave you 6500, I think your going to have to take out a little more than 12K in loans.

I'm OOS and I've got about 10k offered, then...my EFC was under $20k too, so I'm going to be taking ~$10k in loans as a worst case scenario...but there are other factors, too, so we'll have to see -_-.

I have 4k in loans a year 16k in grants, scholarships, and work-study.

I'm OOS, all I got was a federal $3500 loan because I think my EFC was the default maximum. I'm not complaining because I know there are lots of people who need financial aid a lot more than me.

alchemy,

are you already a student? I thought work-study was allotted once you begin school

blazingson, they tell you how much work study you qualify for when you get your aid package. Then you just have to wait till school starts and locate a "work-study" job.

Anyone know what constitutes a "work-study" job? Would it be like working at residence halls checking ids, working at the rec center, stuff like that?

OOS
15,000 Scholarship 3,500 Federal loan
My EFC is 28000

They more than fully met my need!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I got a scholarship...they're probably all given out now, right? :(

Oh yeah, and the loans on the WA page right now are student loans, right? PLUS loans for our parents are still an option for the remainder?

odin, some work-study is on campus jobs (like office help, etc) but it doesn't have to be. There are a lot of jobs working in off campus companies, teaching kids to read, etc. It varies between schools who they've set up agreements with. Technically, any employer who meets certain qualifications can agree to take part in work-study if they want you to work there. The only difference is that they get reimbursed part of your wages, from (I think) the federal government.

On the financial aid award page what is the difference between the categories "offered" and "accepted"?
