Anyone get off the wait list yet?

@heyman27 Ha they actually called me at 9pm. I was really surprised that they would call that late.

Wow this has me going crazy. Basically if I do get a call which i doubt it will be from 4:30-9PM.

Don’t even worry about it! Soon you’ll be getting a call from Emory saying you’re off the wait list! How many additional materials did you send to them?

I’ve tried my best but emailed them a letter with updates to my extracurricular, etc. and have also physically mailed the letter as well. I’ve also tried to contact my representative a few times but to no avail. I’ve also asked my guidance counselor to send my most recent transcript but she said that my latest one was in February and wont be updated until June. Any other suggestions?

I would definitely try to obtain an additional teacher or whatever recommendation from someone who didn’t write one of your original recommendations. Also in your letter did you mention that Emory is still your number one choice because a good way of getting off the wait list is expressing interest? I submitted 2 additional recommendations (one from a teacher and one from my guidance counselor) and in the one from my guidance counselor I had her mention that Emory’s psychology program is the best fit for me and stuff like that. And I know that Emory wanted to see the most recent grades of people on their wait list so i had to like unofficially scan my third quarter grades to their admission office.

Your right I’ll do that with my grades. Also I did early decision two so I thought that shows my interest enough but I’ll try to obtain another recommendation. Thanks for the help!

Anything new anyone?

@lexi83 what was the amount of time they gave you to decide?

@heyman27 They gave me 10 days so I have to decide by the Monday after next. They haven’t updated my financial aid yet so that’s making me nervous because Emory is not cheap.

@lexi83 Thanks for responding, it’s just that I think they probably call people in rounds, as in they call many people in the beginning and give them 10 days, and then call the next round of people, etc.

I got the call at 5 today! Hopefully I get good financial aid, good luck to everyone still waiting to hear.

@sbr549 As I’ve asked others, what did you do to get off the wait list?

@heyman27 believe it or not, nothing lol I just kept my name on the list

@sbr549 That’s crazy but your credentials are impressive. How long did they give you?

@heyman27 I have until June 2.

Good luck on your decision!

I have officially decided to go Emory! @heyman27 Someone from Emory admissions actually called me just before making my decision and asked confirm whether was going or not so that they could let other people off the waitlist. So the good news is that they’re still looking to take people off the waitlist!.

@lexi83 did you apply for financial aid? If so, how long did it take to receive your award after hearing you were admitted?

@lexi83 That’s great news! I can still only hope

@sbr549 Yep I definitely applied for financial aid and I think it took about a little less than a week for them to update my financial aid status.
