does anyone have an idea of how many wash u will accept this year from the waitlist? Harvard, Princeton and Penn are accepting in significant numbers it would seem. wonder if that will have an affect on wash u's waitlist...

i really hope i get called..

Just sign up today, My s got a call 3 days ago, and will attend it.

did your son do anything additional jss2000?

I really hope I get called. I've done so much to try to get into this school. Do you think sending in a certificate for placing second in Districts for tennis and a certificate for placing in the state competition would do much?

Hey guys, I got in off the wait list to Olin Business school on Wednesday. They called me on my cell.

SuperChode:

Did you do anything extra? What were your scores/rank/ec? Did they say how many others were taken off as well?

I didn't do anything extra at all. I stopped considering Wash U as a possibility really.

I had a 760/680/770 on the SAT. 3.7 GPA. President of student council, captain of mock trial, model UN, literary magazine, captain of math league.

They didn't say how many others were taken off though.

congratulations superchode. will you be attending next year or have you already chosen a different school?

did anyone get a call telling there status who hasnt gotten in yet

enrocer
no call here one way or the other

Any internationals heard yet???

Well to whoever is interested, I was called back on the 6th. From Maryland. I will not be attending, so I really hope someone else that loves WashU can fill this spot! I also got called from Duke on the 7th, now there...I may attend ;)

edit Oh, and I did absolutely no supplementary information (transcripts, letters, etc.) to either

I was talking to someone from the admissions office yesterday. From what I heard it sounds like they have been ranking their waitlist candidates..

^^^
To Hopeworks:
Are you serious? They rank their waitlist candidates?

to above post^^^
Yeah every school ranks their waitlist candidates no matter what they claim.

Any internationals heard anything yet??
Is one formally removed from the waitlist or does one just assume if one does not hear anything?

nope i am still waiting for them to call
I dont know exactly but they should inform us if they are not accepting anyone off the waitlist

Getting off the waitlist is almost always a long shot. By the time you get to May 15th it's a very long shot indeed. If as of early May, Wash U didn't yet know if they would need to go the waitlist (see second post in this thread), and we have heard from just a handful of people who got off the list last week, then I would guess they had just a few spots to fill and they are probably done.

Of course, summer attrition could be higher than they expect and a few more spots could open up over the summer, but.... not likely.

I will be happy to be proved wrong.

man but if there no spaces left they should tell us or atleast give us some sort of update

this is terrible, doesn't WashU know that there are other schools that others may want to go to waiting for their reply!!!!!!!!!! For all this waiting I hope they are paying full tuition or something!!!!!!!!!!
