So who's actually accepting a place on the waiting list?

Just trying to get an idea of how many people on here are actually putting themselves on the waiting list.

My friend and I are both on, so 2 here.

I did. Didn't even give it a second thought. It's my #1 choice. I still want a shot, even if it is a teeny tiny shot.

Not me. Out of the most selective schools I applied to, Wash U was my least favorite. There was no one around when I visited even though it was a regular school day. The Loop is a run down place with not much there except for Blueberry Hill Restaurant and a few others. The campus seemed like a bubble. No reason to go there except for Forest Park across the street. The seals in the zoo were my favorite part of the visit (within Forest Park).
GO BLUE!

Since they pick people from the waitlist according to which school has slots, can everyone who is staying on also post which school they applied to (or I guess which they ranked 1st in that list).

I'm on for CAS.

I am for CAS. It's my top choice by far.

Good luck everyone!

I may or may not depending on what schools I get into later this month, because I don't want to take away a potential chance from someone who REALLY wants to go. I don't really know anything about Wash U yet, so I'm saving my decision for later. It's not first-come first-serve, is it?

They aren't really clear about that. In the FAQ, they say if the first slot open is in the Eng school, then they'll have to look at only the Engineering waitlist kids so it doesn't matter if someone from another school sent in the reply first or not. But then they don't go on to further address if they'd take the first Eng kid who responded or not.

I think it's not first-come first-serve though. They probably made little notes when first making decisions on which kids they wanted the most but couldn't accept and they'll probably see if any of those kids are on the waitlist first (I'd assume?)

kaseyditz, that seems like the easiest way to do it. I wouldn't want to have to go back through all those applications again.

2 for CAS here.

Do you think they will really take into consideration how quickly you reply to the waitlist offer? That doesn't seem quite fair to me.

im not. its not worth it since financial aid is not guaranteed!

I did accept the waitlist because my parents made me, but I'm not going to go.

i accepted the waitlist for Olin

I also accepted a spot on the waitlist (CAS).

I unoptimistically accepted a spot on the waitlist for CAS.

I should have applied to engineering just to get in since I am a girl.

I accepted the waitlist only because I paid them good money and I want them to read my application again : D
But I am not going. St. Louis is not all that attractive to me.

I accepted a spot on the waitlist (CAS) only because it didn't cost me any money to so I thought I might as well. I'm going to Notre Dame, though.

accepted a spot on waitlist for Olin

I wish I applied for Engineering as a girl also.

They sent me the letter, I was relieved. I have no interest in going to a place so far away. I live in NJ.
