I'm really hoping that the tier system is true, that'll make me feel better about having not received a decision yet. Add me to the list of peope who have yet to hear back (by the way, i submitted april 10).

I'm still waiting! Sent mine in on April 6th...

does everyone's appeal status say: Your appeal for admission has been received and is under review. Please check this site regularly for a reply. We will do our best to post a decision by May 1st.

or does it say: Your appeal for admission has been received. Please call to receive a timeframe for a reply to your appeal.

mine says: "Your appeal for admission has been received and is under review. Please check this site regularly for a reply. We will do our best to post a decision by May 1st."

Does yours say "Your appeal for admission has been received. Please call to receive a timeframe for a reply to your appeal?" Did you send in your appeal late or something?

my friend got the message where they ask him to call back. I was just wondering if that message he got meant anything special. maybe his went into further review?

when did he send his appeal in?

april 15 ......

were I to venture a guess, i'd say they probably want him to call to tell him he got in. but who knows?

On further thought, maybe since he sent it in so late, they won't have the appeal till way later, so they're being honest. no idea.

Is that the date he sent in? or the date they received and shows up as the confirmation on their website? Cuz if he sent in that date, maybe he got this message because he sent it in late. So I think they are going to tell him about when he should be hearing back if his appeal appears to have merit. However, it could be a good news for him too. I've never heard anyone getting this message. So, he should call them back and let us know what's up...

It says in the PDF that appeals recieved by the 15th (most likely postmarked by the 15th this year) will be responded to by May 1st. Appeals recieved after that date are not garenteed review until after May 1st due to the volume of the appeals.

Because of the uncertainty involved with late appeals, it is my guess that the admissions committee wishes to inform your friend of the time frame out of courtesy (which would allow him to file another SIR).

hm...ic....but the thing is..i sent my appeal on the 15th as well but i got the other message.

Are you certain that both you and your friend's letter were postmarked on the 15th? Sometimes, post offices (not all) can be snippy and postmark a letter received on the 15th to the 16th (if the letter is received after 5pm or something).

uh yes. i think there are many people who sent there's on the 15th, and i doubt cal would want to each one of them to call. yeah. i guess my friend is gonna get some good news. he's gonna call tomorow, i'll see whats up

If your friend received this message first, "Your appeal for admission has been received and is under review. Please check this site regularly for a reply. We will do our best to post a decision by May 1st."

and then got this "Your appeal for admission has been received. Please call to receive a timeframe for a reply to your appeal," then it's probably good news for him, I would say.

Couple of years ago someone I know got in on April 30th and she found out from the web site.

yeah, but was that a weekday.
i think we are going to get a lot of responses today, being the last business day before may 1st. I dont believe they will be inclined to work weekends, as they are not required to tell us by the 1st. maybe though, who knows.

Any updates? None on my page...

no updates on my end, either. weird. maybe they'll post at 5:30pm?

Well they shut down the site temporarily from 5:40 to 6:00 AM, so I'm assuming they posted something?

My friend and I turned in our appeals on 4/12. He heard back today that he got rejected again. I wonder when the rest of us will hear...
