Anyone got any response on their appeals?

still. nothing.
bangs head on desk

I'm sorry to hear about you and your friend's rejection vagan. I turned my appeals letter in on the same day as you guys, express mailed yet I still have not heard back from them. Hopefully this means I made it farther in the appeals chain.

i submitted 4/14 not sure when cal got it tho.

this is a huge shot in the dark, but is anyone here any good with curl? im trying to write a little bash script to automate the checking of my status (how bored am I), and all my login attempts come back with "you have been idle too long, login again". It either has something to do with a sessionID they embed in each login page, or something with my ssl certs.

if this is over your head, ignore

don't worry man. you are definitely well-qualified (from your stats) to get in, and people like me were weeded out cuz our grades simply sucked too much. your GPA/sat definitely fits the Cal profile and you did have good information to present. wish u the best of luck, you deserve a spot

thank you, i appreciate it

Lol. What was your alternative again?

i just sent a SIR to ucsd

Well, regardless of the outcome of this whole process, you have a fine alternative. I, myself, will likely enroll at UCLA if "worse comes to worse."

If rumor is true, and the tier system is Berkeley's methodology, we should feel lucky to have gotten this far. Whatever comes, we gave them a run for their money.

Good luck!

crosses fingers for both you and me

agreed. if we both get to cal, we should found a club for those of us who really suffered with applying.

i guess we won't find out the good/bad news until monday...or later. :(

I wish that there was some way to find out how many applicants are left to be reviewed. I was going to call and ask today, but I came home late from school today.

I don't know why I can't tear myself from this forum. We made it to the weekends without being rejected guys, hopefully we are all successful in our appeals to Berkeley.

sigh, rejection notice got posted this morning.
i guess it's UCLA for me.

Whoa! When did you check for the last time last night? This means they are working either late into the night or early on Sat? Or maybe a delayed response?

Incidentally, UCLA is a world class institution; don't be ashamed!

sigh... I got rejected this morning too. Until last night, I wasn't rejected yet. So they must be working on it today. I am off to UCSD. Good luck to all the rest of you who have still yet to hear. I think if you don't get rejected today, you guys have great chance since most of us are out of the competition.

im sorry to hear that guys, but you are both going to excellent universities, one of which I am likely to end up at to. still nothing on my end.

sprezzatura986 and vagan, I'm sorry to hear about your rejection. At least you guys have good UCs to go to. I would give so much to be in your position of UCLA or UCSD and waiting on appeal to Berkeley. My sole alternative is UCI...

My status remains unchanged; hopefully I can make it to the end.

aiee..still nothing on my end. are they really gonna update through the weekend, or what? I submitted my SIR to LA...if berk wants me they have to let me know soon...

vagan what major did you apply?

good luck to all of you guys that haven't been rejected yet! :)
my hopes weren't too high because my prospective major for Cal (bioengineering) has one of the lowest acceptance rates for majors. it's even lower than the prestigious EECS program so...eh. i guess if i really dislike UCLA i'll try to transfer after freshmen year or something, haha.

best of luck!
