Anyone got real jobs!!!?

Hello. It's been a while since I last logged on to CC (since my Freshmen year in college, about 3 years ago). Recently, I graduated from a 4-year public university (such an honor...) with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and before my graduation, I received a total of 3 different job offers (luckily) until I accepted the last one. And here's my question to you....

If you're about to graduate or have graduated, how many of you have actually gotten job offers?

Here's an article I read:
<a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/19/business/economy/19grads.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/19/business/economy/19grads.html</a></p>

Is job market really that bad!? Am I the lucky one because I studied Engineering? I want to hear better news from fellow graduates...

My D is a freshman studying computer science. She had a paid internship this summer doing coding and absolutely loved it. They asked her if she wanted to continue to work during the school year, but she declined since it’s her first year in college. They definitely want her back next summer. If all goes well, I’m sure they will offer her a position when she graduates.

My nephew who graduated from MIT with a degree in biology has absolutely no job prospects. He may end up working as a substitute teacher in the local public schools.

A friend’s daughter just graduated with her degree in veterinary science. She has no job offers and is contemplating going back to college to study something else. Can you imagine going to college for 8 years and then realizing you can’t get a job??

We have a 9.1% unemployment rate for a reason…

That’s far more common than CS majors from lower tier schools not having any job prospects.

Great work OP.
Your success gives me a glimpse of hope.
