I got rejected with a 1250/1600 sat and 28 act with a 3.5gpa…

MJS and katzly, contact SBU and tell them that they are your #1 choice and they will accept you. A lot of popular schools are rejecting or waitlisting over qualified students because they don’t expect you to enroll. tuft university started this - I blame them. The same thing happened to my cousin last year. He was rejected from Baruch College with a 2200 and really wanted to go there, and for financial reasons. He contacted the admissions office and they accepted him on the spot.

Edit: It’s called tuft’s syndrome. Google it.

wow Mel thanks for the scoop. MJS, It’s worth a shot to try what Mel suggested. You never know…It might work. The best to everyone!

Rejected today. I was kinda surprised, and I was pretty sure I would’ve gone there and I was expecting to get in. My sister got in a few years ago with lower SAT scores and the same GPA.

3.75 GPA
1120/1600 SAT, 1800/2400
Good rec letters, decent essay, tons of ECs and community service

mel, who would i talk to or ask to talk to? and what exactly would i tell them?

My son and I are waiting patiently for an admissions decision. I wish Stonybrook would just let us know already. My gut feeling says that those who were accepted already know. Those of us still without info are probably rejected. My son is thrilled about being accepted to Binghamton.

Oh did anyone else apply to Binghamton??

Accepted today!

However, my Solar had updated to show the new student tab 2 days ago.

I still have one friend that has not received a response back yet.

I hope for the best for the rest of you!

I withdrew my binghamton app ahhaa and well I still haven’t heard anything either.

MJS, call the admissions office found here [Stony Brook University Undergraduate Admissions](Undergraduate Admissions at Stony Brook University)

Tell them you were wait listed with a 2200 and ask them if they will reconsider. Also mention that SBU is your #1 choice.

@MJS and @Mel444 dont Call the office it may hurt ur chances

@Snoop1 Is that what you did? I was gonna recommend that to my friend who’s still waiting for a response in case he got waitlisted.

Lilmelonred why did you withdraw Binghamton?
Does anyone know if rejections come in the mail or solar or email??

zafanna: My D got a rejection email last week. Solar was updated with the text of the rejection email the following day.

Waitlisted with a 90 gpa, 2050 sat. Has anyone tried calling/know whether or not it’s a good idea? Because stony was my first choice, even though I made better schools.

zafanna: i don’t want to go to Bing anymore.
My friend got rejected today.

I just gave no info. No acceptance No waitlist No acceptance. Nothing. Today is the 30th. Thanks for the info about your daughter C.

I will keep checking solar…but I feel like its a waste of time. Good luck everyone.

I was accepted about two-three weeks after completing my application.

I got an email on Thursday saying that I had been awarded the Valedictorian award…I logged onto SOLAR and it said “Congratulations you have been admitted”

Congrats!! I still don’t have any information…would be nice to know one way or the other.
