EDIT: Ah I saw your post, that’s great! Thanks!

88.2UW 92.6W

730 math, 620 writing, 580 english

30 ACT

Applied for Computer Science.

5 clubs and activities including marching band and being technical manager for a committee that hosts events for the community (80+ hours)

My essay was about how I worked with an indie programming team to develop applications for the iPhone. Google “iPhone Dav Team” if anyone is curious.

no it does not.

I updated my post before it with my stats; I had sent that before I saw your response:3

Nice. The high SAT score def gave u the edge

MJS, what are your stats and school you applied to?
and Snoop, how was your essay? I was actually accepted to CEAS with a 1640 and 3.7 gpa, which i think is lower than yours.

I still haven’t heard anything and my stats are 1700 SAT and 3.7 GPA

My son was waitlisted. Solar was updated yesterday. Basically it said they received a record number of applicants this year and the class has been filled. He has been placed on the waitlist.

Applied for Health Science. unweighted GPA is 92 - 1750 sat ss - 1170 cr and math. Class rank 35/200. He has many ECs. Father is alumni for his CS undergrad and hires SB graduates for his own business. He really wanted him to go there. My son was not planning to attend if admitted based on other schools he was accepted into already.

I hope this info is helpful to those still waiting. Best wishes to all.

mel i had a 3.4 GPA along with 2200 SAT - along with some other things which i mentioned in a previous post - i applied to stonybrook…

Got a waitlist with 2330 SAT/ 91 GPA
You never know! :P

This is weird… so people with super high stats get waitlisted… and people with low stats get either rejected or waitlisted too. so that means anything in the middle, most people will get accepted.

I’m sorry to those who got waitlisted! You never know though! I hope you all have backup plans!
I saw a link to a photo that showed NEW LINKS on their solar. If your solar is asking you for a new student deposit, WELCOME TO STONY BROOK! YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED! I know the application process link may still be telling you your application is being processed but NOPE! You are accepted. That’s how I found out. (But I’m a transfer student so I think I’m in a different boat than all of you.

For those rejected, if you are CERTAIN you want to go to stony, attend another college, do very very well and transfer when you can! There’s always a chance! If anything, enjoy your college journey and make the best of it! You are in control of your happiness!
