Anyone have experience with Chegg?

I dropped an elective class on Thursday, I have since replaced it with another elective, and I had rented the book for the class off of Chegg. I need to return the book and I was hoping to get a refund, but I'm outside of the 21 day return policy by two days. I used Chegg my freshman year and I could have sworn it was 30 days. My fault for not double checking, but I didn't anticipate dropping the class so I didn't bother.

The book cost $50 to rent. I could purchase the book for $90 and sell it for it's current used worth of $85, losing $5 instead of $50. Would it be worth it to do this or should I just bite the bullet and send the book back?

Are you spending an additional $90 to purchase the book on top of the $50 you ha previously spent to rent the book?

How popular is the class? If it is popular and in demand, I would sell it. If not I would call Chegg’s customer service and offer them proof of dropped class and see if you can get a refund. I’m not sure how their customer service is but during y freshman year, I also returned a book with no problem. Maybe if its not too far from the 21 day deadline, and with proof of dropped class, they’ll consider it.

I’ve used Chegg many times, from my experience they are very flexible and easy to work with, I’d just let them know the situation, doesn’t hurt to see if you can still return it.

Good luck.
