Thanks Naoise. There is only a two hour window for Busch move-in on 8/28 - that doesn’t sound good.

I just got my schedule and I was put into Calculus for the math/physics majors…even though i’m not a math/physics major…or an engineer…i plan to do pre-med and major in biological sciences, would this course be necessary or can i take the easier calc 136 (normal calc)

I’m a US citizen. Do I need to fill out my TB section on the pre-entrance immunization record paper? It says that it’s only required for non-immigrant visa holders(people who are visiting the US on business or tourism, etc…)

Also, what does the CR next to the financial aid payments made section in my term bill stand for?

Also, the financial aid I have in my award letter has not been accredited to my term bill, only a little over half. Why is that?

Also, I received financial aid from an outside donor; would I need to bring that document in when I go to rutgers and show the office of financial aid so they deduct it from my bill?

Is it better to buy your books ahead of time or wait until classes start?
Are the books for each classes posted online or something?

a.coti: i don’t know about your first question but it seems like you know the answer to your own question sooooo i think the CR stands for credit or something. i don’t really know, and i haven’t been too worried about it myself. also the financial aid in your award letter is split over two semesters. so half of it goes to your first and half goes to your second. and yes, definitely inform rutgers that you have received another scholarship so they can give you a refund check, and you will need some sort of documentation.

retrooo: my first semester i bought all my books once i got onto campus and it was a bit pricey. it is cheaper to buy it online from amazon, half.com so that’s what i did second semester. then i found out that for some of my classes, i didn’t even really need the textbooks and wasted quite a bit of money. and sometimes you need to buy it from the bookstores because it comes in a certain set required for your particular class or because it comes with wileyplus, aplia, or other access codes if your class is online. i have already bought some books that i need this semester because the teacher has sent us emails telling us what book we need. and if you go here: [Welcome to The Rutgers University Bookstore](http://rutgers.bncollege.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/BNCBHomePage?storeId=58552&catalogId=10001&langId=-1) if you just put in your course id and all the subsequent information, you’ll get the books required for your class. there are other ways to look up booklists, too.

i think this semester, i’m going to buy all my books before i get to campus. it just saves me a lot of money.

you can also wait until your first day of class and buy all the books online afterward. just pay a little more for express shipping. most teachers don’t really expect students to have their books until after the second week of classes anyway.

bump…

@ Kex971: No, not at all. Being an out of state student myself I quickly picked up friends without a problem. Sure some kids wind up hanging out with their high school friends and a lot of the friends you’ll make will be from New Jersey, but Rutgers is huge with lots of people ready to make new friends. Also, people from the north, south, central and are different in their own regards so you’ll make friends with different types of people regardless.

Where can I look at my professors?
My online schedule only shows the courses.

Your professor name should be on sakai.rutgers.edu if they set up a sakai tab for your class. In some cases though, you might have to wait until the first day of class to find out your teacher’s name.

I’m having trouble accessing sakai right now though (I think there was a problem with the server at Rutgers or something today that is preventing people from seeing their emails, webreg, etc.)

^ Oh thank you.
Omg, I couldn’t access sakai either today nor my email.
I thought it was only me having this prob.

I was wondering what was going on… I thought my internet was acting up. I could get on webreg, enrollment pathway, and my email, but I couldn’t get to the rutgers site or sakai. weird!

hey!
Do you know what bus to take to get from Rockoff Hall to the part of college ave by scott hall and murray hall? And what bus to take to get back to Rockoff? Thanks!

To Voorhees Mall (Scott Hall stop): Cross George Street from Rockoff to the other side and take the **EE ** bus going towards College Avenue, not going towards Cook/Douglass or you’re in for a long ride.

From Scott Hall to Rockoff: Take the EE again. No need to cross the street when you get off at Rockoff stop since you’ll be on the side that Rockoff Hall is at.

Here:

and for others who are dying to get used to the bus routes. This was my savior! Scroll down to Bus Route Descriptions
[Rutgers-NewBrunswick/Piscataway Campus Buses and Shuttles](<a href=“Parking & Transportation Services | Institutional Planning and Operations”>Parking & Transportation Services | Institutional Planning and Operations)

thank you so much.
where on the other side is the bus stop?

I think the stop on the other side across from Rockoff Hall (going towards College Avenue route) is by Burger King. It’s the stop before the Train Station.

So when you cross the street from Rockoff, just stand somewhere by the Burger King over there. I believe there is a bus shelter.
