Anyone hear about their appeals yet?

you should try checking the admissions website every day until may 1st because they changed my acceptance status before i got my formal letter in the mail. But if you dont hear from your appeal by May 1st, i would definitely suggest sending in your sir for winter. g'luck :).

much thanks for everyone's help! :)

has anyone else heard about their appeals yet?

Yup- Revelle Winter to Sixth Fall....very very relieved

congrats lecorbeau! what did you write about in your appeal letter?

SWITCHING TO FALL- I had some family issues + explanations for low math test scores (missing a year of math while living abroad, etc.)...

COLLEGE CHANGE- I had written an entire list of reasons why I felt ERC was the college for me (I believe I had about 15-20 in all)...and they gave me Sixth...I had written it as my second choice on the original app. so I'm not complaining...I actually would have taken ANYTHING that wasn't Revelle...

Also, something I recommend, especially when dealing with UCSD, is a healthy dose of persistence. I called maybe 6 times in all, asking to speak with the Vice Chancellor of Admissions, I met in person with the ERC dean, I sent UCSD Admissions three personal letters, etc------ I really wanted out of Revelle ;)

SIGH i'm dying to get into ucsd winter or fall :] SO SO WORRY. they recieved my letter on the 19th...do they update it on their website cuz there's still nothing new on mine.

blueprints, i heard they do update the site. but i know the appeals take about 3 weeks from the date they received it to get back to you.

lecorbeau, i agree with you about the persistence thing. im thinking about writing them another letter or giving them a call or something. but how do you do that without them thinking you're rude?

yikes! that would be right about mid may. in the mean time i can send in my sir to another school right? still crosses fingers for ucsd!

how do you know how many points you had for the app process thingy?

Though not attempted, I heard you can call them and they'll tell you.
