Anyone heard from NYU for ED1

hey guys for those of you who were talking about lsp…i stumbled upon this article the other day and found it kind of intriguing. it is the president of nyu (j-sex as referred to here ;D) talking about lsp. pretty interesting stuff:

[NYU Local ? “Why Am I In LSP?” And Other Questions Answered By J-Sex](http://nyulocal.com/on-campus/2010/12/01/why-am-i-in-lsp-and-other-questions-answered-by-j-sex/)

i dont think it really clears any technical questions up, but its a different viewpoint atleast. :)

Don’t quote me on the classes, but I believe LSPers have separate classes than other freshmen. One or two gen-eds might be shared, but overall I’m pretty sure the classes are different (hence LSP classes being smaller than those of other colleges.) But I do know for sure that it does not affect housing. LSPers aren’t housed any differently than other freshmen. It’s still the typical freshmen residence halls you choose from - Hayden, Weinstein, Goddard, Rubin, Founders, Brittany, 3N. And you can room with people from any program.

“accepted students usually find out between the 13th and the 15th, and rejected students usually find out the 16th or 17th.”

How do you know that?

I’ve looked through posts of previous years and that’s the pattern. I thought it might be different this year because of emailing instead of snail mail, but LSP continued with its same pattern so I would expect acceptances/rejections to follow suit as well.

ohhhhh okay…thanks :)

Do we think all lsp emails were sent out or could there be another wave of them?

My counselor said “Decisions will be emailed on December 15.”

No problem :)

And I think there might be another wave of them…my guess is that if we don’t hear back by Wednesday though, I think it’s safe to assume we weren’t LSPed…so it’s either accepted or rejected from there!

Wednesday sounds like a reasonable cuttoff. That means we can take 4 days off until Monday the 13th from excessive email refreshing.

Haha @jjohn, that’s a nice thought, but I know I’ll be obsessively refreshing my email until I get that email from NYU…

Has anyone gotten any emails from NYU? I remember last yr my friends got random emails updating about normal NYU things, and he was accepted… the only thing I got was the most recent lookbook at academics in the mail gawd can we find out already… I know they have already decided.

@itstime I think the random e-mails before acceptance thing only applies to RD people…as far as I know, everyone got the academics book in the mail, and nothing else from NYU. But I agree with you; we know they’ve decided, they should just tell us and put us out of our misery already!

No I haven’t gotten anything from them since the beginning of November. I haven’t even gotten one of those academics at a glance things in the mail, but I’m pretty sure that’s because I don’t live in the states sadly. Anyways, you shouldnt really read much into what unis send you, other than acceptance or rejection letters, those are pretty important haha… This is what I’ve been told anyways. I really should get to bed…

how could you sleep at a time like this? haha. jk… kinda
I totally haven’t slept for the past year… to much thinking about nyu.
I genuinely wish everyone good luck!
I’ve been reading my horoscope lately… it helps, I recommend it! It’s been telling me that if I believe in myself and stay positive, and ignore my negativity, my ultimate dream will come true! So lets all just be positive… hahaha hard!!!
^btw, I’m a mess if you can’t tell from my syntax and diction haha

@itstime i completely understand haha. i decided last December that I was going to be ED and since then I have just been one big ball of nerves. NYU is the only school I want to go to…I just want to get my acceptance letter already!! :P

@tess…
