Anyone heard yet?

Do they leave a message if you aren’t home to answer?

Yes, my daughter was left a message last year.

I know that one boy has been called for MT, but that’s all i’ve heard besides 2 acting. Hope that helps!

It’s always boys. Any girls!

When my daughter was called last year, the calls seemed to take place over several days. I know she was so disappointed when she first heard that calls were being made and she had not received one, she thought they were done and she had not been accepted, then she received a call!!
Hang in there…this is an exciting week!

Do they send out letters too?

They do send out letters too but in the past those were mailed the very last week in March. If you contact the office of admissions they will tell you the date the letters will be mailed along with the date you can actually see your status online.

There are girls being called too (It always seems like there isn’t any because they take so few compared to the guys). My d’s friend was called the other night that she was accepted to acting. Congrats to all of you that have been called and have yet to be called! Such an exciting time! :)

You usually dont get your letters until more than a week or so after the call.

I need to get ready to get my kid up off of the floor if so. :(

I don’t think anyone here knows if all calls have been made. It could take a few days to make such calls.

That said, the acceptance rate into CMU’s BFA is about 2%. The likelihood of getting accepted is very very very slim. Someone will be accepted of course. In my view, while one must stay confident, one must be VERY realistic about these odds. In my D’s year, CMU accepted 3 or 4 girls for MT. That’s it.

By the way, once calls come out and then letters are sent…there is a chance later this month of being put on the Priority Waitlist (this is a very small list). That is what happened to my kid. So, that possibility still is there for you or your kids. But realistically speaking, no matter how talented they are, the chance of being admitted is not good. Nobody should be shocked to be denied there. Disappointed? Sure. But go into this expecting the odds of being rejected at CMU are FAR greater than getting in. So much so that you’d be wise to expect to be denied and that any acceptance is a surprise (like winning the lottery…LOL). Just saying. Far less upset that way.

Scratch my post, I was misinformed. I don’t think they have made any MT calls yet.

CarnegieMT, you had me freakingout about the potential of getting a call today!!! I’m still eagerly and hopefully waiting…

So the MT calls are happening this week? My fingers are crossed for everyone! :)

Me too theatrenerd10! Haha. Not banking on getting into CMU though, like soozievt said, it’s so extremely difficult, it’d be like winning the lottery! Best of luck, everyone. And congrats, seriously, to those who were accepted, and those whose kids were accepted. How exciting!

CMU calls are out!! Two guys have been notified. Good luck everyone : )

are these calls for MT/new calls? or are you talking about the same guys that were already notified this weekend?

no these are new calls. MT. No girls have been notified for MT yet.

mtlover, do you know the 2 guys who were called for mt or if not where’d you hear this? around what time did they get their calls?

Why do I feel like no girls have been called! This is so nerve-wracking!

1 girl has been called.
