I suppose that is my assumption. Look at the odds. From what I have read on CC they made phone calls already. Even though ours does not say complete I am assuming my D did not get in. We have been very realistic about this process, and the right school will work out for all the kids.
Let’s face it, no matter where you end up training, you are only going to get out of it what you put in! So being in the “dream school” may not be as important as we all think. Wishing everyone the best…It will all soon be behind us and we can look forward to future :)

I’ll give you guys my two cents for what it is worth. What I am posting is not factual or based on any inside information at CMU. It is based on having had a kid apply there and who got Priority Waitlisted (another year) and having observed this situation at CMU for years.

In my view, those accepted (which are very few…and in fact, the same amount of people as slots in the class…NO extras) have been notified by phone already I believe. CMU sends out all the paper acceptances and rejections around April 1 (the accepted people have already been called before). They also send out a small number of Priority Wait lists by snail mail (which in my D’s year, the snail was slower for that than the rejection letters…seemed to be the last thing that went out). The status online doesn’t get updated until AFTER they send out the snail mail notifications. I know you guys are trying to “read into” what the status online means but I don’t think it means much at all and just has not been updated. The online page will all change AFTER they mail out the decisions.

This has been what I’ve seen now for many years. I realize things could change and again, I am not giving you facts, but I do believe this is the situation at CMU for the BFA. If you have not been called by now, you are most likely rejected and a very small number will be Priority Wait listed and so I guess there is an inkling of hope for the WL. To be realistic, CMU’s BFA accepts about 1.5-2%. The chance of being admitted is extremely small. In my D’s year, they took three or four girls for MT (I think they may take five now).

On my CMU profile, it says APPLICATION COMMITTEE COMMENCED ON MARCH 2ND. Does that mean anything?

…!!!

You need to go to the website [Admission > Undergraduate Admission](http://www.cmu.edu/admission) and click “where am I in the process” - be sure to have your initial letter from their acknowledgment of when you applied with your Admission ID# - then enter it with your name and birthdate and the the info of whether you are accepted is there - I have twins - one auditioned MT - did not get admitted - one applied arch - with portfolio review - accepted. We will see…
Hope that helps

At this point, if you didn’t get a call, basically aren’t you rejected? Best I’m hoping for is waitlist. =/

B’dway mom is correct, you can now check to see whether or not you’re admitted by following the link she gave. My d didn’t get in, but still hoping for good news elsewhere!

to the people that have been accepted when did you audition?

^^^You are reading posts from a year ago. NOBODY has heard from CMU this year yet and notification has NOTHING to do with the date of your audition at CMU. Everyone will hear in very late March or by April 1.

CMU JUST finished their last weekend of auditions today. Notifications wont be sent out officially in letter form until March 23rd.

Thanks soozievt and CMT2012 for the info. I made the same mistake last week and now know to look for the year of the post!!

At auditions they mentioned being able to check our Carnegie portal on 3/15. Is that still correct?

I’m not sure if that’s so. Nothing might be posted until the following week after that.

Thanks for the info!
