Gibson has changed the status from application complete to your decision is pending review. Can anyone clue me in as to what this may mean one way or the other?

I would interpret it to mean that they have it in the committee for action. Not sure if it tells you anything about time frame or not, since they may decide immediately upon reviewing it or they may hold off if you are borderline.

Thanks for the help. My daughter applied on the January 15th so I didn’t think I would get a status change for a while. However, would you mind giving your thoughts on her chances? She is from a southern public school with a 29 ACT, 4.1 weighted GPA, student government president, over 600 hours of community service.

I would say she has fair chances, not a slam dunk. ACT is right at the 25th percentile, GPA looks strong though. Do you know her unweighted GPA? How many AP’s and honors courses has she had, especially AP’s. Her student govt. and community service (that’s a lot of hours, isn’t it?) should help her for sure. Tough call, but I think she is more likely than less. Of course I cannot see her recs and whatever essays she wrote.

Thanks for your help. She has taken every AP available at her school. Those include APBiology, APChemistry, APLIT, APUSH, APGovernment, APEconomics and whatever they call the English one. Her recommendations should have been excellent and her essays should have been good. She was also her Girls State representative.

I like her chances better then. Challenging schedules always are a big plus. Oh, and they call the English one AP English, LOL. Just kidding. That is what people usually say, but there are actually two courses, AP English Language and AP English Literature.

I wish her the best of luck. Tulane is a wonderful school. Although I am guessing it isn’t her first choice since she applied so late. Go visit if you can. That often moves Tulane way up on a student’s list.

Tulane is high on her list but she just has not been motivated to get her applications done. She has had a touch of senioritis here and there. She applied to Loyola and is in there so we will probably go and visit both in one trip.

Thanks again for your input.

Your welcome. Have a great visit.
