I just got mine yesterday. Also, did anyone participate in it in the years prior and can tell me-- or us if anyone joins me in this thread-- what to expect?

did you get an e-mail or a phone call…we haven’t heard as yet. Can you share your stats?

I got my phone call yesterday as well. I would greatly appreciate any information anyone has about the interview process.

I got an call. My stats aren’t all that impressive-- I believe they’re fairly average for anyone who qualified for Maximus in the first place. 33 ACT, 1490 SAT, 4.2 GPA. My essays are probably what did the trick-- I’m still quite surprised I made it this far.

Bump. I’m with livwetta-- does anyone have any information about the interview or can tell us what to expect?

so what did you guys think of the interview? and anyone know when recipients are notified??

The interview was pretty relaxed. Dr. Harlow was supposed to be on my panel but she was called in for a meeting so I had mine with 2 people instead. The lady didn’t seem to like me that much (haha) but overall the experience was great. I loved be able to stay overnight with a host. I definitely like OSU a lot more than I did before.

My interview was pretty tough. I definitely had to answer some really serious questions about issues regarding my major-- some that people in the field wouldn’t be able to answer without putting in their personal opinions. I met a lot of cool people though!

same! meeting new people was the best part :)

ChasingStarlight, I felt the same way about the interview - they basically grilled me with all of these social issues about stem cells and choosing who would get health care or expensive treatments…I’m just glad I’m not the only one who felt that way!! but I agree with briguy, I liked campus sooo much better than I did the first time. OSU moved from about number 6 on my list to one of my top two. Hopefully we’ll find out soon!!

oh, hiltzation, to answer your question, im pretty sure we find out next week ;-). good luck to all

hey guys just an update: i got a call today telling me that i got the presidential scholarship. good luck to ya’ll

Congrats briguy! I am just a mom lurking on this thread. Do you think you will attend?

Thank you so much! I am quite excited. I’m pretty sure I will be attending; I don’t think I could give up the opportunity to graduate debt-free. Also, by what I’ve seen from touring campus, staying overnight, and browsing the forums, OSU takes very good care of its honors students. I also think the honors collegium and the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research will be very helpful in the future. :-)

I hope my D will join you. She was admitted to honors and we are hoping for a Morrill scholarship. I agree; the honors program is fantastic. Graduating debt free in this economy is very smart. I went to OSU in the 80s and did very well job wise. There are smart kids burdening themselves with debt at “fancier” schools that will not be happy when they cannot buy a house before age 40. Best of luck to you and Go Buckeyes!

Thank you Good luck to your daughter; I hope she gets it!

Bah, they already told the admitted students? damn. :(

me thinks. :-/
