Anyone invited to University of Scholars?

Hello!
Has anyone who applied EA gotten an invitation into the University Of Scholars program? What are your stats and extracurriculars like?
I am a hopeful scholar who is applying RD now that they changed National Merit full tuition to only 30K.
Thank you!

Are notification of University Scholarships also given out today, or do they wait until they’ve looked at the RD applicants before they choose?

I’m wondering the same thing as kerouac, I actually e-mailed NEU admissions to figure this out.

And by the way, it’s the “University Scholars Program” not “University of Scholars.” Just sayin’.

Yeah, please let us know how they respond.

Yup, I’ll post on here right when I hear back from them!

I thought I saw on NEU’s website that the University Scholars would be notified in their admission letters. If you don’t see it, you didn’t get it.

Hey all, I got into the scholar program. It said so in the letter, if anyone was wondering.

Accepted into the University Scholars program! This is crazy, didn’t even think it would be a possibility!

Hey-- I got into University Scholars too! It should say once you log into the application status check website.

I think last year there might have been a few people who were not initially offered University Scholars in ED but had it added after RD decisions came out. But I am not 100% sure on this, so don’t let me falsely get hopes up!

Daughter accepted into Business school Honors and offered University Scholars Program full tuition scholarship. She is a National Merit Semifinalist.

Middle612 and others…do you know if there is a welcome day for the Honors College/Program? I think I saw one on the site for scholars, but not for Honors. The general day is not working for me as I was planning on the ACT (Feb. 8) one last time for an outside scholarship.

Congrats to those of you in Scholars. That is great!

HSG—
By the way I am not even IN honors yet but apparently if I make finalist for National Achievement they will put me in honors… and I won’t be able to go to NU without finalist anyway because I need the scholarship that comes with it!

Do you think national merits have a better chance of getting in this program?

D got in

SAT 2350, National Hispanic

Welcome Event
Those who have been selected as University Scholars will be invited, along with their parents, to a welcoming event to be hosted in Boston in early spring. This year’s event will be held on March 23rd and 24th. This time provides prospective Scholars and their families with the opportunities to meet our Northeastern University leaders, see campus, learn more about Northeastern and the intellectual life on campus, get a feel for Boston, meet potential faculty members with whom students will work, and to engage with current and future University Scholars.

Congrats to your daughter rgo! May I ask if she had any outstanding extracurriculars or awards, or just good academics?

Not outstanding, but possibly unique and “matching” with what Northeastern is looking for.
US Soccer Federation Referee for 3 or 4 years.(cant remember how many)
Summer Internship in a Foreign Country in Foreign Language.
Essay talked about uniqueness and importance of being multilingual and multicultural, tying in her internship.

Awesome, thanks for letting me know  do you think she will be attending there?

I want her to!

But she still wants to wait for answers from Harvard/Columbia/Berkeley in the spring.
I don’t believe she will get such good aid from them, but who knows.
So even if she does get accepted there, I am going to be in the Northeastern camp…

I would say between 50% and 70% of going to Northeastern. But that is me talking.
