Meaning: do they literally just consider it only in itself again? Is there a standard procedure that goes on at some/most universities where they'll consider app updates separately, or is it all combined in a big file where all the things for a single applicant are right next to each other (since of course, there are tons of deferred applicants and original apps are usually submitted officially through CA or some school portal, while deferral updates come in through different methods/forms)?
It'd also be interesting if any former admissions people were able to answer this here.

Adcoms see the same information for deferred and RD students: the submitted application and any updates.

While current admissions professionals can be vetted by CC and receive the College Rep title, members are not permitted to state that they are former admissions employees because such claims cannot be verified.

Thanks for the advice.

Also, that makes sense, I didn’t know current admissions officers/representatives used CC though.

Most College Reps post on their respective individual college forums, however, I do see a few that post on different forums from time to time.

The question then would be, are the deferred applicants treated like they’re brand new, read completely over again with fresh eyes, or are they somehow marked as “deferred” from the ED round? Or do they use their ED reading, and then argue them again in committee?

Since I have a deferred kid, I’m kind of curious, but if ED2 works, then I won’t have to worry about it, but would still be curious.
