Anyone know how many open spaces for fall/spring?

basically just wondering if all the spaces were filled. if everyone sir'ed to usc.

if there is still room for appealed students. spring and fall spaces total.

If enough students on other colleges’ waitlists get accepted, then there might be a chance for more students to get accepted to USC through appeal (or moving up from Spring to Fall).

They are also still working on transfer applications.

isnt it kind of late because usc already made their decision.

grey: transfer applicants? doesn’t usc reserve a specific number for regular and transfer applicants?

I know that USC was wayyyy under their quota this year sooo they will be moving up spring applicants and some appeals

HMRacts1- How do you know? Can you provide a link?

I know someone who works in the admissions office at USC and they told me.

will they bump up more appeals then too?

more than previous year right?

That I don’t know…from what I understood theyre considering spring admits to move up and the rest will be filled with appeals…do not quote me though

HMRacts,
There has been no word SC has not filled their class. The class is targeted at 2600. Not everyone posts on Facebook and on the class list there are almost 2600 names, so this may be misinformation.
Let us not make any guesses until there is official word from the university.

Have any spring admits heard about moving up to fall yet?? I don’t think so…but i just wanted to see

And Georgia Girl…I spoke to an admissions person about the possibility of moving from spring to fall a couple of days ago…and that was the information i got.

So it is not misinformation

Was this for the theatre major or the entire freshman class? My contact from one of the largest schools said they were overenrolled in that school. It seems as if we are receiving conflicting stories.

No you’re right. The theatre school is overenrolled in the theatre school…I meant the entire freshmen class they are underenrolled.

They said that although the theatre school is completely overenrolled, that is not how they base their dceisions on who moves up. They base it on your profile and how much they like you and it is not based on quota anymore. If you PR’ed yourself very well, you have a very good shot. The theatre school told me they sent in my name onyl to be moved up in the theatre school since they wished for me to come in fall with them. They said it’s 50% your school and 50% the university as a whole…now that the theatre school has submitted my name, it’s up to th university to decide if I’m allowed in the fall.

Sorry for the miscomunication Georgia Girl : )

bump…

When they notify spring admits that they’ve been bumped up into fall, do they only call or do they also email?

It seems that some of the appeals are being accepted for the fall 2009. I didn’t think this was possible, having heard they were either accepted for spring or the following fall. Hopefully this means that there are openings for the fall still, so the spring admits will be moved up. I guess we won’t know for a week or so, but maybe it’s a good sign.

Usually you will receive a call if you are moved up…

We should be hearing sometime next week…hopefully in the begining of the week!!!

When you say it’s 50% your school, how exactly does that work? Any idea?
Like, if you sent some emails back and forth with the liason from your school, would they relay that information to the Undergrad office when they’re choosing who to bump?
Also, does your location/demographics matter at all?
I’m a spring admit to SPPD and I have a friend at my SAME high school who turned down fall admission to SPPD; would that increase MY chances?
