I've been accepted to this major. And I looked at it it said after 2 semester I can choose the specific major. But How likely it would be if I choose to study business after 2 semesters? Will that be easier or harder? Anybody knows? Thanks a lot if someone has been in this major.

It is ‘undecided’ major.

You can switch into other things, but realize that there are some restrictions for getting into certain majors.

Oh…I see…
So do you know the restriction for switching to Ecnomics?Or business?
I’ve already e-mailed them saying I want to change to business, will that work?
Or If I need to get certain grade to get into business school, what grades will it be?

There are certain academic requirements needed to get into majors.

When you switch after one year out of DUS you are not “in the major” yet, you are simply pre-major status within the college. You have to meet a couple simple reqs to be accepted as pre-major status within a college. When you declare during the spring of your sophomore year you have had to met the college and/or major requirements in order to be officially accepted into the major. Most colleges it is like a 2.0 GPA and completion of a certain list of core classes. This varies by college, some programs will have strict # requirements where they will only accept the 250 best sophomore into their program every spring.

Here are the entrance to major/pre-major(college) reqs [Center for Excellence in Academic Advising](http://www.psu.edu/dus/cfe/etmindex.htm)
Here are the enrollment # caps [Division of Undergraduate Studies: Advising Updates](http://www.psu.edu/dus/updates/numbr492.htm)

In short, you can switch to the college of business or Liberal Arts (economics), but you won’t be in their major officially until the end of your sophomore year.

If you want to switch to business (any Smeal major) you need to take the entrance to major courses (I think there are 9) and get at least a C in all of them by the end of sophomore year. These are specific courses that all Smeal majors must take (accounting, econ, mis, calculus, etc). Your adviser can help you with this. You also have to have a certain GPA by the end of the first semester sophomore year and keep it up through the second semester. For most Smeal majors this is a 3.0, but I think it’s higher for finance and possibly actuarial science. I think the GPA requirement is 2.0 for Econ. These requirements are the same for a student admitted to DUS and also for one admitted directly into Smeal.

What about getting into Eberly for Biology?

cometstarg- check the link i posted- entrance to major requirments and look under the college of science (Eberly).

I believe they were Calc 1 and 2, Some Gen Chem class, and 1 or 2 of the General Biology classes with a C average.
