Anyone live in Becker/Cook House Previously?

Alright this is kind of ridiculous and extrememly specific, but it's been bugging me.

The lcd monitor stand for my PC is insanely deep, and I was severely deprived of desk space this year. I'm thinking of getting a desk mount to free up space, something like this:

<a href="http://www.ergotron.com/ConsumerProducts/DeskMounts/tabid/55/ctl/Product/mid/386/PRDID/9/Default.aspx%5B/url%5D">http://www.ergotron.com/ConsumerProducts/DeskMounts/tabid/55/ctl/Product/mid/386/PRDID/9/Default.aspx</a></p>

However, I need a 2-inch or less ledge to clip it on. I don't know if the desks in Becker are compatible (I'm living in Becker, but I'll assume the desks are the same in both buildings), so I wanted to know:

If anyone has lived in these buildings, do the desks have a 2" ledge where I can clip such a device.

Any responses at all would be appreciative, but I'm not expecting much. I just don't want to buy something I can't use.

i'm not exactly sure as to what you're talking about. but the desks in becker are your standard dorm desks. if you lived anywhere but balch last year, you had those desks too.

Well, I lived in Dickson, and at first glance at a Becker room the desks are very different. I didn't check for this, however.

I'm just curious if there is a two-inch ledge onto which I can clamp the above device.

For instance, a four-legged table would work because it has a < 2" ledge. However, a desk whose top makes 90-degree angles with the floor and has solid sides doens't because there is nowhere to clip.

It's hard to explain, but if you understand it would be a big help.

are you saying you need a surface (i.e. the desk) with a 2" minimum overhang at the edge onto which you can clip your monitor mount?

or are you saying that the vertical crosssection of some edge would have to be less than two inches so the clamp could fit onto it?

i'd say just wait until school starts. having your monitor not on it's crazy arm thing for a week or 2 is a lot better than having a crazy arm thing that you can't use at all and cost you $100.

i see. ok, the desk itself has 90 degree angles all around. but there is an extension that you could put on your desk that would be a ledge, that comes with the desk. so you would be fine buying what it is you're buying.

Ok, great, thanks for the responses guys.
