Anyone NOT in top 10% get into UT Austin?

about how many non-top ten %ers usually get in? any idea?

not many cause only like 1000 enroll so im figuring not that many

hm oh boy, that isn’t that many.

I have been preparing myself for the worst for a while because i don’t want to be crushed, but i think all of my preparing has been erased because I feel so nervous

i’m on the exact same page! what shcool s did you apply to

idk but probably 30% of them go to other schools for various reasons

UTSA (just for CAP reasons), Texas State (it was automatic) and A&M. I got into all three so UT is my last one to hear from. I plan on doing CAP and have accepted that it might happen, but I REALLY want UT

@xkathryn05x, i totally understand how you feel…and i’m sure many non top 10%-ers feel the same way. my counselors have told me i have a slim chance because of my desired major…and that i’m not in the top 10%. i’ve been preparing myself for the absolute worst…but like you, right now all that ‘bracing for the worst’ is gone. the wait’s just so long and tiring.

i’m also prepared to be CAP’d lol, since i was told that there is a chance of that happening.

Yeah i chose communications, which wasn’t my smartest move, but i didn’t feel like putting a major i didn’t truely want.

awe man…i put down Biochemistry. my counselor said that it’s not easy to get into…especially at UT. but i agree, there’s no point in putting down a major that you’re not even interested in, let alone dislike.

i’m giving up for the day, best of luck

I wouldn’t want someone to do that and take my spot, so i shouldn’t take someone elses. I will get there in a year if i have to, but ideally i want to spend all 4 years there.

couldn’t have said it better myself. i’m willing to go through CAP for a year, just to get to my dream school.

yea, i think i’m gunna get off and check in on the application page later on. good luck everyone :)

do u think international relations and global studies in lib arts is an easy major to get into?

i thought i heard that they look at the school, not the major, but i could be wrong. I think lib arts is easier because it isn’t a restricted major.

capped, 11%, 10 AP classes, 3 5’s on exams, 2200 sat. 3.75 gpa, in state, strong ec/ essay.

just really disappointed with the admissions board. oh well.

Wow, joshyo10. I’m so sorry. That seems impossible to understand.

That is crap joshyo10, what school did you apply for?

well it kinda makes sense. i put pharm/natural science as first choice, but i put undecided for 2nd choice. i guess i just didn’t make the cut for undecided…

i got capped too i feel your pain joshyo

How did that happen? I have a friend outside the top 10 with worse stats than you who got into business. If you got cap’ed then i guess im screwed.
