Hi I'm going to a UC this fall and I do not want to pay an effing $23 dollars just to send scores I barely used during CC. The ONLY time I used it was to place into Calculus 2 and I ended up taking Calculus 1 anyway. Then I just completed IGETC using NO AP units. And I'm a social science major so this score doesn't really apply to me anyway. I have scores from CalcBC, APUSH, English Lang/Comp, French Language, Bio & Euro in high school. Thank you!!!

I took 8 AP classes in high school and I sent those scores to UCLA up to my junior year. However, by the time I took the AP exams my senior year I already knew I hadn’t gotten in to UCLA so I didn’t send them. I got a 5, two 3s, and a 2 that year. Anyway they only have 4 of my scores.

Most of them don’t even count towards classes anyway, they just give you units so I don’t think it’s worth it to send the rest.

If you never reported them on your UC app then there is no need to send them in. You aren’t required to report them unless you posted your scores on your application.

“If you never reported them on your UC app then there is no need to send them in. You aren’t required to report them unless you posted your scores on your application.”

Ughh. Crap. I reported all of them on my app. I hope they don’t put a hold on my account.

I’ve never seen anything saying that you had to report them if you put them on your application. My MyUCLA only says that in order to receive credit I need to send them in… but nowhere in the process of applying, being accepted, and getting articulated did they really seem to care that much about them. Which makes sense… considering how they don’t really help with anything >.<

I debated having them reported or not, but in the end decided to (it cost me $15 via phone) in the off-chance that either of my University requirements weren’t satisfied by one of my courses.

correct me if im wrong, but you need 180 units to graduate, 60 of them have to be upper division courses. although ap credit doesn’t go towards classes, they still go towards the 180 needed to graduate, so it would be beneficial for you to report it. i don’t think i reported them on my uc ap, but now i think i should have. do you guys know if it’s too late ? i should double check

one AP report doesn’t cost $23, it’s $15/report (I know it’s still a lot)
hey. I spent 30 bucks for two reports and got another copy in the mail for me to keep.

Sure, I could spend that money, but I don’t know if it’s even necessary and it’s a well-known fact that College Board, this apparent “non-profit” organization, overcharges students because they can.

I sent all three of my AP scores, a 3 in APUSH, 4 in European History and 5 in AP Psych and I got credit for all three of them. I think it’s worth it if even one of your AP scores transfer if you think about how expensive classes at UC are . . . why retake something when you could get credit for a test you took years ago? I dunno, I think you should, especially since you reported them on your application.

reporting them is beneficial towards completing your required units, spend the $15 to send it to ur UC whether you reported them on your application or not.

I took two APs (gov and euro) and neither went to IGETC but I was told I had to send them - suck it up and send them. It’s 23 bucks compared to the thousands you’re spending on room and board, books and “student fees.” Yes, college board is a load of BS, but don’t fight the man in a way that could hurt you in the end.

thanks amazonbkwrm. Yeah I’m sending them this week… to my despair. I think I need to to fulfill my American Institutions requirement anyway. Stupid CollegeBoard

I talked to my admissions officer in person today about this.
