AP Scores

If I'm not planning on using AP classes I've taken in high school to receive college credit, is it OK if I don't list the test results on my application?

I took AP World History and AP US History in high school and got a 5 and a 3 on each exam, respectively. However, I took US History in college, which took care of my history course requirement. So, if I don't want to use the AP classes I took to receive credit, will it be considered 'dishonest' if I don't write them down on the application?

I’d just put them down to be safe. Why not list them?

Well, this is a stupid question, but if I got a “3” on the AP US History exam, that won’t bring my college GPA down, right?

No 10charr

Sounds good. So it’s just giving me credit rather than a GPA-affecting letter grade.

how do you request a copy of your AP scores?

Remember, listing AP scores here does not give you credit for corresponding courses. You must request that the scores be sent to your college and have your college give you the credit. If you decided to take college courses instead, they won’t matter, but list them anyway.

Malak, what do you mean? You don’t get credit at your CCC. But, you will get credit at the UCs if you get a 3+. For example, my Euro AP exam will count as 8 quarter units at UCLA if I get in, but I have no reason to report my score to my CCC.

Yeah, I meant to delete my post. Sorry, I was thinking about clearing pre-reqs at my cc.

wait…so ap units don’t count as part of your 60 minimum units?

No, they do, but the credit you earn from them is determined by the UC you get into.

oh ok shweet…
