Yeah, I got your PM, and it does appear to be a unique case for you, not the usual waitlist situation.

I guess the rest of us still have to wait...

Yeah, I got your PM, and it does appear to be a unique case for you, not the usual waitlist situation.

I guess the rest of us still have to wait...

It's been a few more days now, and STILL NOBODY? On the Class of 2012 blog someone said that they won't be accepting any students from the waitlist, so I'm a little down. I guess Harvard's 200 didn't come from Wes, huh?

I know students (albeit not many) who were taken off the waitlist into the summer.

About a week ago, my son got an email asking if he still wanted to stay on the waitlist and that Wes will likely go the waitlist in June. I think they sent this email to all those on the waitlist.

^I got that email last week too. I accepted the position again, but this is definitely torture.

i got a letter, not an e-mail. then my parents accidently threw it out. I called admissions today though, and hopefully i'm still on the list

on the facebook group for the class of 2012 someone commented they were taken off the waitlist

are you sure they weren't an international? I think they may have a seperate waitlist? I heard of an international getting off the waitlist just no domestic activity.

it looks like they are from california, not an international student

Ahhh, that's good for that Californian, but soooo disheartening for me.

Does anyone know the current status of the waitlist? Has Wesleyan taken anyone off? If not, any idea when?

Hello all. Our nephew was accepted to Wes from the waitlist today. He received a personal phone call asking for his continued interest. He will take his spot at Wes. New England region. Learned that the list is long, but spots are few.

Good luck to all.

That gives me hope.

Our son was contacted yesterday also by Wes admissions and offered a spot for the Fall 2008. It was a wonderful call to get as this has always been his first choice school. Stay hopeful out there, there is movement off the waitlist. Best of luck to anyone still waiting. .

From Frontpage stats, class of 2011

1236 Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list
441 Number accepting a place on the waiting list
97 Number of wait-listed students admitted

We have learned that fewer admits this year and more who accepted a place on the waiting list.

Where is that information from? My son was admitted from the waitlist last spring, class of 2011, and I have never seen the statistics. Do you have the web address? Thanks.

Waitlist data from class of 2011, and much more here:

Ah, the elusive Wesleyan Common Data sets; finally online.

Any tips for my son who is still waiting to hear from Wesleyan?

Any student on this waiting list should not give up hope, but couple that with a heavy dose of reality. Wesleyan fills the waitlist spots to round out the class. So, very few spots now on this list coupled with a chance that an empty spot will match a student.........and you can see the problem.

Probably the best tip is to settle in to wherever they have deposited and hope to be surprised.

Good luck to all, I know our nephew is thrilled to join the Class of 2010 at Wes, and he still can't stop smiling............
