oldyale, I am so happy that your nephew got in!!! My son has completely forgotten about Wes and is very much into his enrolled college. Best of luck to all still waiting.

Is the waitlist closed as we have heard? Summer reading lists/packets went out June 10, our nephew accepted off waitlist on June 12.

Our nephew has one friend on the list who called in and he was told the class has been filled.

From what I understood from the e-mail they sent a couple of weeks ago, they were/are pretty much set for their class, but they told us to stay on if we were still really interested in going. This was, as you probably know, at the end of May, so it's been a little while. That said, they also told us that they would notify us all when the waitlist is officially closed. I know of two people at my school who got into Wesleyan-type schools in the past two weeks... presuming that that's happening elsewhere, there will probably be a couple of slots opening up as the summer months go on.

I mean, I've pretty much given up hope at this point, but I figure I might as well keep updating them on things I'm doing and reinforce my desire to go there. I know it's a total long shot and I'm not really worrying myself too much about it (I'm not 100% thrilled with where I'm going but I feel pretty positive about it), but it's not much effort to keep trying, so...

In case you have not heard of it, the book "The Gatekeepers" by Jacques Steinberg, is an exclusive and interesting look at the admissions process at Wes. Many of the same admissions staff are still at Wes and the book is a really quick and fascinating read. We came away with a much better understanding of the mystery of mysteries: college admissions.

hey, I just got in off the waitlist. I didn't get any indication of how short it is now...im freaking out right now I cant believe my luck (i'd given up on them reaching out to me). im from miami, florida in case location matters.

congratulations

thanks!

also, I was waitlisted at 4 other schools very similar to wes. Wes was the only school where I went letters and updated them about achievements, etc. So I think maybe that might have been very beneficial (only school I got off the waitlist at),

Congratulations Millerw16!
The only students I have seen get in off the waitlist thus far are males. I have a niece on the waitlist, but haven't seen much on this forum to encourage her.

Congratulations again!

I was just wondering if anyone who got off the waitlist can tell me how long wes gave them to make their decision?

I have to get forms into them that they are mailing to me by July 4th.
