Waitlisted

Does anybody know anything about waitlisting at Wesleyan? Around how many students get in from the waitlist? Anybody have any idea?

i wondering that too. i'm getting really anxious even though wait list dealings can go well into the summer. does anyone know when is the soonest that one could find out?

hey... I'm waitlisted too. I just visited the school today (didn't get a chance to before). I talked to one of the deans and he said the earliest they would possibly let people know is the first week in May, but its not likely. They haven't received a bulk of their responses which they expect to come on or after the postmark date of the 1st, so there'll probably be a gap. The majority (if any) of the acceptances would come mid to late May, I think. Hope this helps. Good luck!

yeah, whatever it is can people PLEASE post on here as soon as they get their decisions so that we all know when it's happening

just curious all, what have you guys been doing since finding out that you were wait-listed? where have you deposited and what have you done to get off the waitlist? (I have also been wait-listed)

I was on the Wesleyan Waitlist, and found out on Sat. that i was accepted. I still haven't made my decision (i have until 5/16 to do so), but I have an extension from my other college, so I have a week to choose. BTW I sent them an email at the end of april about why i wanted to be at Wes and why I thought it was good fit for me...just an idea tho (and I don't know how many more they're taking)

Good Luck All

Wow, congrats lixden09! I sure hope I get off the wait list too. Thanks for the info. I've sent two letters so far about why I want to go to Wesleyan and why it is a good fit for me.

just out of curiosity, can you share your stats if it's not too much trouble?

Hey all, I also got in! I received a phone call this morning from an admissions officer. I'm pretty sure I'll accept. I wish you all luck!!

now i'm nervous

Congratulations!!! However, it makes me a little anxious. I hope I hear soon!

hey guys.. yeah i got a call today and took a spot off the waitlist. one of my friends who really wanted to go from my school got in too. i am still not sure if i want to commit, however, so its a very hard decision. just to let those who are concerned know, i did not contact wesleyan at all besides sending in the card.. which is why i did not even anticipate being offered a spot off the waitlist (i did however write to other colleges that waitlisted me, so its kind of ironic). if its helpful, i had a 1560 SAT (800 V, 760 M) but of course scores are not everything. hope this is informative.

where are those who got off the wl from, and at what time of day did the calls come?

I'm from NJ (right outside NYC) and I got a call around...2 this afternoon. Yea, I said morning before...my bad. Good luck!!

breathe, barry, breathe

yes, breathe, barry, breathe. you'll be fine, buddy!

Do they call everybody who gets in off the waiting list? Or do some of us just hear by mail? Also, I doubt anybody knows, but would they leave a phone message if nobody picked up?

Well I'm pretty much assuming everyone will get called...but I actually waasn't at home when the phone call came...my sister answered...the guy asked her who she was, a relative or whatnot...he told her that he had great news regarding my waiting list status and that i should call him right away...she called me and gave me the number he gave her...i called him back and got the news. sorry if the pronouns are excessive. :)

Omg guys. Congrats everyone!!!! I'm so nervous. Hang in there bfinder.

yeah...it's a no! my counsleor called today and they said that i wasn't in round 1 but they took 50 -- weird, i was nervous that they just weren't going to take that many people.
I'm really upset, but whatever -- i did all that i can...i wrote an awsome letter and sent a postcard. What do these people want from me!!?
I hope i get in...i can't handle this for much longer.
