anyone placed into PAR?

I have received a mail yesterday saying I was placed into PAR, specifically Carr.
anyone knows about PAR ~ ?

i was placed in PAR too!

..and Carr. Coincidence? I THINK NOT. haha, maybe it is.

I got put into FAR and it was definatly my last choice. From what I hear its pretty lame and the dorms are super small. At least theres air-conditioning though.

I lived in Carr for the first semester of my freshman year. One of my friends moved out of ISR, so I took his spot in the spring. It's not a bad place to be, except during hot days.

how loud is PAR :)

It's a freshman dorm, so it can get pretty rowdy at times, especially the weekends. The walls are pretty thick though.

Quick question, how many of you guys are minorities. B/c they always seem to end up at PAR. It's kind of funny. blue is right about the walls. I have seen quiet floors and I have seen out of control floors just the same. It is a real toss-up.

We were at orientation this week and learned that this is the largest incoming class in university history. All freshmen will be guaranteed a dorm room, but it sounds like your flexibility may be tested. A number of students did not receive their top choices for dorms and quite a few will go into temporary dorm space. These rooms are basically dorm rooms that were converted into lounges when they had fewer students and did not need as many dorm rooms. They are converting them back to dorm rooms until some of the dust settles and they know exactly how many students they have.

I hear a lot of kids like temp housing better. I didn't meet almost any body in it while I was at school but oddly enough almost everyone in my orientation had it (I had a late one). Funny.

FAR how is it i was placed ther it was my first choice because all my friends ar staying ther

FAR is right across the street from PAR, so it's about the same, except with AC.

What a huge freshmen class. They just recently had to convert Sherman Hall from Grad to Undergrad to accomadate lol. I got offered a single there, but I'm not sure I'll take it.

Krause, ill trade you my place in FAR for your single!

ok...does anyone know anything about Hendrick House? ive heard its for nerds and i like to have fun. is it really anti-social? im transferring as a soph and putting my name on their waiting list is my only chance to live in a dorm, otherwise i have to find an apt somewhere. someone help me out with what this place is like!

Ummm I hated it but I have my reasons and I'm very outgoing and social. I also don't like computers that much. It just wasn't for me. So anyways here's my list. Yeah dont take everything you read to heart but keep it in mind. You may not be miserable there. You might find people you like. It just wasn't for me. Here's a list of reasons why I hated it. (<a href="http://itstotallythatguy.blogspot.com/)%5B/url%5D">http://itstotallythatguy.blogspot.com/)</a>.</p>

If you need any apts look here (<a href="http://cpm-apts.com/)%5B/url%5D">http://cpm-apts.com/)</a>.</p>

Sounds like someone got pwn3d by the 1337ness of Hendrick House. I kid I kid. This one was interesting:

15) People just don't play Counterstrike at your dorm. They play it in your dorm . . . online!! (in exact online replica of your dorm)

They have a Hendrick House map?!!!!!!!! I have to see this!

haha WOW thanks i definitely am not going to even think of living there!

Yeah I wish I was joking. Some people really like this stuff. It was almost (I repeat, almost interesting) to learn about what geek nerds really do. I had never seen 1337 or anything written in numbers let alone a whole site about it. I have never (and prolly never again) will see comp towers that mindbogglingly huge. I prolly won't ever see a game night on Friday or Saturday again. Some of those entertaining things will just vanish.

(Btw, My friend decided that when I said something at Hendrick was entertaining it was a bad thing. Quite humorous b/c he is kind of living there with a roommate who lived in my building last year. I never met him until now and when I asked who his friends were to see if I had any connections to him, he couldn't name one except the kid who took advantage of everyone else and talked to everyone [bum cigarettes off people, ask people for things he wouldn't return] so I wouldn't really count that as a friend, ever. Sad really . . .)

And yes my roommate (who was a complete ass-hole btw) decided to create Hendrick House online, finding textures to match the real ones, went around taking pictures, setting everything to scale, "oops don't look to hard but there are 12 floors instead of 10 snerk" while I pretended to be really amazed (in truth I was impressed AND disgusted that someone could waste that much time on something that will never ever matter).

So all in all it was just disheartening to live with a group of funless, antisocial people who weren't even nice enough to even that out. (I got yelled at and called stupid a lot by my roommate b/c I was "just too stupid to understand computers" among a lot of other rude things he did especially when I tried my hardest to be nice.) So yeah, I hope you find a place next year.
