anyone here planning not to go to harvard?

if you arent going, then where else?

im not, i didnt apply to harvard and im going to princeton which is better anyways. (just good natured fun of course but still true)

I'm not going. ....But, you know, I was waitlisted.

I'm probably going to the University of Chicago. I love the school, they gave me merit $$, and Chicago's awesome--so that's pretty much it. I'm also considering Johns Hopkins for their creative writing program, but I think I'll be at Chicago.

yea uchic is awesome

I'm not, and I didn't apply.

I am UChicago bound.

Honestly, I would choose Chicago over Harvard any day. UChicago has everything I want in a school, from the tough academics to my home neighborhood, Hyde Park. Growing up on the campus has only made my desire to attend the school deeper.

I believe this thread is for people who got in, but are not going to go to Harvard...but I could be wrong.

I plan to decide between Harvard and Rice (+ merit $$) based on the admit weekends and my parents willingness to pay.

I applied to Harvard EA, and basically I'm choosing between H, Y, and Columbia.

Couldn't tell you right now where I'll end up, but I'm definitely leaning towards H and Y.

I'm torn right now between Harvard and Northwestern HPME (The 7 year medical program). Where will I eventually go? Who knows. Leaning towards NU, although they gave me a horrible financial aid package (Comapred to fullride at H). Hope this answered your question?

Sphybrid, go to Harvard. You don't gain much with a combined program, and you sure do lose a lot (especially if your aid was that different). It's come up in some of the grad forums I visit--you'll want to make a new choice at the end of 4 years anyways.

my 2 cents

I'm torn between Harvard and Spelman and Columbia. Spelman gave me a full ride plus expenses, so I don't know about Harvard...

I got into Harvard in the regular decision round. I'm turning it down for Olin College.

Olin's so cool. I can totally understand that.

I have to decide between Harvard and Yale-Help!

I was accepted. I'll be attending Caltech.

I´m probably gonna go to Dartmouth instead of Harvard. Dartmouth gave me some pretty awesome aid and Harvard didn't give me any: I'd rather step out of an ivy oweing nothing than oweing close to 80 grand.

going to princeton...

This thread makes me happy. Why? Because I'm on the waitlist, and the more of you who deny Harvard, the higher my chances become of getting in. Everyone benefits this way, ya'll go to your 1st choice schools and I get a better chance of going to MY number 1. :)

I didn't even apply to harrrrrrvarrrrrrrd because the profs are so into themselves and research, the school's in the middle of a huge city, and the dorms suckk!!!! - they're tiny!!!

IM GOIN TO DARTMOUTH !!!! EEEYEAH!!!!!!

And if you lose out on the Dartmouth housing lottery, when winter of sophomore year comes around and you have nothing to do but sit around in your shared rural apartment eating microwaveable meals and drinking away the boredom and bitter cold, it'll all be worth it because the professors aren't doing any research. Enjoy your superior education, Mattdude! ;)

I believe with the two newly built dorms there will no longer be such a thing as the homeless Dartmouth sophomore.
