<p>After visiting Houston during the MLK weekend (from AR), I have basically decided to go to Rice if I get accepted. (It was a top choice, now its basically #1 choice)</p>
<p>If by the power of luck that I get in some Ivy, I would probably still go to Rice.</p>
<p>Anyone feel the same way?</p>

<p>I feel I had a pretty decent chance at Harvard, maybe Yale, and maybe not so much MIT, but I decided that even if I got in I'd still choose Rice so I did early decision and don't regret it :)</p>
<p>it takes some gals to say you have decent chances at Harvard, especially this year</p>
<p>Consider the following:</p>
<ol>
<li><p>Are you going for the name of the school? (nothing wrong with that, especially for a dead-ended degree.....not going on to grad school)</p></li>
<li><p>Are you going for other factors? (college life in general, weather, location...you pick it)</p></li>
<li><p>Are you going for the "smaller" more intimate classes?</p></li>
<li><p>Are you going for the "better" chances at working on research as a undergrad?</p></li>
</ol>
<p>Rice, Duke, Chicago, Northwestern & Stanford are "academic Ivies".</p>
