Anyone planning to appeal UCSD?

If yes, please list the process and when you are going to do it.

Thanks.

I think I might, but I got into UCLA... =/. Anyone know how to appeal to UCSD by the way. I can't believe that a friend of mines didnt get into UCSD (1530sat, i think perfect sat2s, and a 4.5 capped gpa). Another friend of mines didn't get in either and he was accepted to UCLA.

I notice a trend....we all applied to the Jacobs School for some type of engineering and we got accepted into UCLA.

Wow your friend has godly scores but still didnt get in.... i feel for him

homiebo

im going to try to get in fall 2005 (i was accepted for the winter quarter).

singinizzy: what are you going to do in the mean time.. take CC courses or something?

oops disregard my statement.. for some reason i had fall 2006 in my mind lol... don't mind me

haha. well, even if i can't get in for the fall quarter, ill either take cc classes or work for the first few months. it scared me at first, but, it may be a good option.

My friend was not accepted into UCSD, but is there any way he can be accepted to UCSD for winter quarter?

I have no idea. When i got my acceptance online it said "congratulations! you have been accepted for the winter quarter" I would assume that it works the samea as fall acceptance.

benedict, Did you and your freinds apply to Ucla under engineering also? Or only at Ucsd?

For both UCLA and UCSD.

Can I reapply for the Winter Quarter?

UCSD only accepts students from the Fall Quarter applicant pool each year. If there are more admitted freshmen then there are places in the Fall freshman class, a number of students who applied for the Fall Quarter are offered admissions for the Winter Quarter. However, UCSD does not have a separate application period for the Winter Quarter.

that's from the ucsd site. believe me, if there was some way to get into ucsd somehow, i would know. lol

benedit- that's crazy your friend didn't get into ucsd with those scores. and it's weird that you both got into ucla but not sd. i'm the other way around; rejected by UCLA, accepted by UCSD. applied for engineering at both schools

benedict, did your friends and you apply for differnt types of enginnering at ucsd and ucla? It seems so random!!

Yes, we applied for different types of engineering. One quick question, when you login to the UCSD adm. site, are each of the SAT scores repeated?

Yea they are. Also, many of them might show the same test date cuz accordint to sd , that's the way they do it(I called them and they assured me it was ok)

has anyone actually heard of ucsd winter quarter admits appealing to get into fall quarter and succeeding at it?

Appealing to UCSD (and UCLA) if I can figure out how.
Why? National Merit Finalist. They didn't know I was a semifinalist, either, so it might be worth something.

Relax, for all of you who got super high SAT, and whatever stuff you have going on. The ones who rejected you would probably have thought that you're going to Harvard or someother hoyty toyty school. On the other hard, you should have showed more interest on the school, and how your life depends on getting admitted, on your ESSAY

But isnt UCSD comprehensive review a numerical formula? The essay is not taken into account...I mean the facts in it (hardships etc.) are computed into the formula but writing skill and how much you would like to go to UCSD are not. It isnt a subjective process.
