Anyone received Financial Aid offer yet?

^My EFC went from about 7K a year to 77K after my mom got married, how do you think I feel? Not to mention my grades in high school were pretty bad so merit based scholarships were out of the question.

The federal direct parent loan has a ridiculous interest rate. My package has a large amount of parent loans with a 7.9% fixed rate. I think we’re going to decline this loan and get a loan from a bank for a much better rate.

Ahhh! I hope it doesn’t take until July 1. I have 0 EFC and applied well before the priority deadline. I’m sure I’ll get the full Pell Grant, but I wonder if I’ll get any state grants.

^---- I’m in the same boat with you. I was offered the Parent PLUS loan but my parents have TERRIBLE credit.

I believe that since the legislature still hasn’t put out a budget for the higher ed institutions in the state, UT cannot release Financial Aid information, but you can always call the Financial Aid office and ask.

I got my financial aid offer for the summer and it was so bad! Prior to that my tuition was due on May 19th and they had yet offer me anything. I’m a broke college kid (isn’t everyone), right? So they tricked me into having to accept a ‘‘Tuition Loan’’ which I had no other choice but to accept. Little did I know, the fine print has a due date on it. So I have to pay those 2-3000 dollars by the end of the summer. Can you say, stressed?!

On top of that the normal package they offered me was about 2-3000 dollars. I’ll have to pay the tuition loan with that money. Not getting myself anywhere. It’s like paying off a credit card with a credit card. And so I’ll be left with about 400 bucks. It’s not gonna cover books, living expenses, etc.

■■■

I need a job. Desperately looking. blah

/end rant

P.S. In comparison to last summer, this is MUCH less than they offered. My EFC stayed the same and my mom’s income didn’t really change either.

I fear what pennies they’ll offer me for the fall.

I swear! For the summer, a 47 dollar grant?!!?!? What is that beer money? I don’t even drink beer! x_x

I have been waiting almost a month and a half and still nothing.

In the summer FA notification, they stated that the fall/spring FA for continuing students will not be available until around July 1st.

^ thank you for stating that…i was starting to get worried!

Anyone receive theirs yet? We were supposed to get them by today which I didn’t.

I got mine yesterday

I got mine today! ^_^

Nothing yet! :(

I haven’t gotten mine yet. :frowning: I hate this waiting game…

To make things worse we have a three day weekend, meaning more delay. Wait, am I complaining about a three day weekend? Oh well, let’s just keep waiting.

OK, finally got mine. With 0 EFC my aid is half as much as last year’s. I love the $19 University Tuition Grant.

just got mine too and yeah, screw budget cuts and the economy ;</p>

Its not the economys fault. And they didn’t have to cut higher education. There are other aspects of a budget you know.

All loans LOL. :/
