Anyone regret NOT applying for a scholarship?

I am regretting not applying for the Gates Millennium Scholarship soooo bad right now...
I was fully qualified and such, but I just didn't follow through. I know a lot of people at my school that applied for the scholarship, and if they win... I will be one bitter person for a loooooong time. I will definitely be happy for them, but DANG IT, I should have applied. I was slacking soo much over winter break. sigh I mean, 1000 winners is a lot, considering all the qualifications: no white people (not being racist), 3.3GPA, below 60K income, and others.
All I can say is WOW! GOOD JOB TO MYSELF! I don't mean I will win, but I had a chance...
Now I'm working my ass off working on a lot of other small, minuscule scholarships.

Anyone else have regrets?

What schools did you apply to? If you applied (and get accepted) to schools that meet 100% of need with little to no loans, then you’ll be fine. :)

As to others’ regrets…there are always some kids in the spring who find out that their schools are unaffordable (parents can’t pay their EFCs or gaps/big loans in FA packages) and at that point, some wish that they had applied to merit scholarship schools.

I feel you pain. I learned about it too late.
