I’m rushing. Supposedly the best chapters on campus are DChi and PiKapp. I have to agree also.

again, it isnt about joining the supposed best it is about joining where you feel comfortable. i myself am in a middle tier fraternity but with my brothers for life, whom i would do anything for.

I’ve considered rushing every year but have been turned off for several reasons.

-I’m chinese. There are very few minorities in fraternities so I don’t know how comfortable I would feel.
-I just can’t see myself as a member of a fraternity. I feel like I fit in more with people not in fraternities than in fraternities.

I know the benefits are many but I just don’t know. Maybe i’ll go through rush once and see how I feel about it.

BTW, I had no idea that TKE was the largest fraternity in the USA. Everyone hates them here.

again only do it if you are comfortable with your potential brothers. i know a few lambdas at clemson and an sae and ato

I rushed last fall!!! and I’m on staff for 2010-2011. So fun! Even if you don’t plan on joining you should rush to get free stuff and make some new friends =]

get great t-shirts, i prefer collecting sorority shirts now since im in a fraternity.

What pierre said (except the Chinese thing). I’m slightly introverted… I’m very social with my group of friends, but it’s not a big group of friends. I’m also not that into sports for instance.

i’d think you’d surprise yourself if you find the right people.

I desperately want to rush but I don’t know how the brothers would react to me being gay. I mean last year I went to a billion frat parties… and I moved in two days ago and I’ve talked to guys from a bunch of different frat houses and they never like harass me for being there… I just don’t know if they’d want me as a brother LOL.
There is a frat on campus with two openly gay people but it doesn’t have a good rep and I’ve hooked up with one of the brothers so it’d be awkward to have to see him all the time =x

you’d be surprised. most people wont have an issue as long as you are cool and down to earth, and not extremely flamboyant. we had a gay brother last year and no one had an issue with him, and there were other gay guys in fraternities whom had no issues with their brothers.

Here’s an interesting article about a frat from GW… [Frat Boys at GW Rush to Undo Homophobic Stereotypes - The Sexist - Washington City Paper](http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/sexist/2009/09/30/frat-boys-at-gw-rush-to-undo-homophobic-stereotypes/)

You’re probably not going to GW, but is just goes to show that some frats will embrace you for who you are

I want to rush when I transfer, but not sure if I’ll impress, being not white at a 80% white school will pretty much set me back.

Most of their albums are pretty great

:p

yes rush is a great band, but don’t worry about not being white. at my school which is 90% white, many of the minorities went greek

Collect Sorority T-shirts?

yes, from events and what not and other various activities.

various activities such as study sessions and tutoring

that is it exactly

It’s the third day into rush for us. I’ve been going out and getting free food and everything. I think what’s the funniest thing about rush is the sororities at the Frat houses spreading rumors about the other Fraternities.

I’m going to rush Lambda Lambda Lambda
