loveduke, just wondering...what school?

Weddington...yes...I know you've probably heard stories and people stop talking to me when I say I went there...but I can assure you I'm a nice person and probably not a part of any of those stories.

See..I have to give a freaking disclaimer when I tell people where I went to school.

It's good to know that not everyone on here is like a supergenius or like a superkid. I have pretty good stats, but people on here are like much ahead of me on like EC's.

loveduke-Oh, ok...yes, I have heard of it. I went to Independence- people have only heard of us because of our football team. :p

sciencenerd- You have to remember that CC really is the "cream of the crop." I have to admit, CC is more intimidating than encouraging.

where u live sciencenerd? i live nearby as well

I was happily suprised when I got in ED last year, but I was fairly confident that I could do it. I worked my ass off on my duke application. I think if anything, my essay clinched it. Anyway, to give any of you suburban white males out there some confidence, I got in. Im from an average high school outside of Atlanta. My EC's werent so much amazing (ie de-worming all of Africa) as they were unique within the typical EC's...if that makes any sense.

i guess i should answer the question to... i was very surprised.. i thought i was borderline deferral / rejection.

How much do you think Duke takes geographical diversity into account, i.e. they want a student from all 50 states so they may give a slight advantage to a student from Idaho or Rhode Island. Thoughts?

Eagle:

This link provides a geographic disstribution of accepted students for the class of 2008. However, it does not provide a number on how many from each state applied.
